- • Serve as a Principal/Lead Software Engineer and technical leader for a collaborative team of approximately 5 engineers, spending 70-80% of time writing production code while guiding architectural decisions.
- • Design, develop, and deploy full-stack software solutions using TypeScript on NodeJS for backend services and modern frontend frameworks (Angular, React, or vanilla JavaScript) for user interfaces.
- • Build and maintain cloud-native, serverless applications on AWS using services including AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, SQS, and S3, adhering to established internal frameworks and patterns.
- • Lead technical design discussions, review architectural proposals, and influence the team’s technical roadmap and strategic direction for public safety software products.
- • Contribute to hiring by interviewing engineering candidates and participating in hiring decisions to grow and strengthen the engineering team.
- • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and knowledge sharing to elevate team capabilities and promote engineering excellence.
- • Champion and enforce modern engineering best practices including automated testing, maintainable code standards, and quality assurance across all projects.
- • Work within a micro-frontends and web components architecture to build embeddable, modular, and reusable UI components for enterprise and public safety applications.
- • Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in daily development workflows to enhance productivity and code quality.
- • Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver technical solutions that meet user needs and business goals while balancing speed of delivery with long-term system maintainability.
- • Ensure all technical decisions prioritize security, scalability, and reliability to support critical public safety systems used by law enforcement, healthcare, education, and corporate clients.
- • Participate in occasional team gatherings in São Paulo for larger events, with no relocation required and a remote-first work model.
- • Operate within an Agile methodology, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery of high-performing software products.
- • Advocate for pragmatism in engineering, balancing ideal technical solutions with practical delivery constraints to drive real-world impact in public safety.
- • Promote a culture of technical excellence, autonomy, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of experience in full stack software engineering and technical leadership
- • 5+ years of experience with NodeJS (TypeScript) and serverless architectures or cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- • Experience leading technical design reviews, architecture discussions, or technical decision-making
- • Experience interviewing engineering candidates and contributing to hiring decisions
- • 3+ years with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or similar)
- • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) for team collaboration
