Our Advisory, Medical, and Marketing teams collaborate intentionally to forge unconventional connections, building a future where healthcare is not a barrier and no patient is left behind.
- • Achieving our mission begins with providing enriching, purpose-driven careers that empower our team to make a tangible impact on patient lives. We cultivate a culture where employees are empowered to bring their whole selves to work, leveraging diverse backgrounds and skillsets to contribute to making a difference for every patient, everywhere.
- • This role is for a Principal within our Policy practice, with a primary focus on Medicare Part B, physician-administered drugs, and the 340B program. Expertise in oncology policy is a significant advantage.
- • The ideal candidate is a policy professional who excels at developing creative solutions to complex challenges, thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and values close collaboration with highly motivated and knowledgeable colleagues.
- • The Policy practice at Avalere addresses a wide spectrum of critical healthcare issues. This includes in-depth analysis of federal and state drug pricing policies, a comprehensive understanding of Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part B, and Medicare Part D policy and payment structures, and the evolving landscape of benefit design and coverage across both public and private payers.
- • Furthermore, the practice engages with Medicaid policies and other state-specific health policies, providing clients with strategic insights and actionable recommendations.
- • Our team applies deep subject-matter expertise combined with a robust understanding of client business challenges to meticulously assess how proposed and enacted policy changes impact various stakeholders.
- • These stakeholders include pharmaceutical manufacturers, managed care organizations, healthcare providers, pharmacies, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), and ultimately, consumers.
- • The practice delivers comprehensive analytic support and advisory services. This encompasses developing legislative strategies, conducting thorough regulatory analysis, and performing quantitative modeling to forecast the impact of proposed and enacted policies.
- • As a Principal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing policy strategies for our clients, particularly those navigating the complexities of Medicare Part B and related programs.
- • You will be responsible for leading client engagements, providing strategic advice, and developing analytical frameworks to address critical policy questions.
- • This includes staying abreast of legislative and regulatory developments, interpreting their implications, and translating them into actionable insights for clients.
- • Your work will involve deep dives into the intricacies of Medicare Part B reimbursement, physician payment models, and the operational and policy nuances of the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
- • You will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that help clients manage policy risks and capitalize on opportunities within these complex regulatory environments.
- • A key aspect of this role will be to conduct rigorous analysis of policy proposals, including understanding their potential impact on drug access, provider reimbursement, and patient out-of-pocket costs.
- • You will be expected to develop and present findings and recommendations to clients, often in high-stakes situations, requiring clear, concise, and persuasive communication.
- • Collaboration is central to our success. You will work closely with other senior members of the Policy practice, as well as experts from Avalere’s Advisory, Data Analytics, and Commercial Strategy teams, to deliver integrated solutions.
- • This cross-functional collaboration ensures that our advice is comprehensive, data-driven, and strategically aligned with our clients' broader business objectives.
- • For those with expertise in oncology policy, there will be opportunities to leverage this knowledge, particularly as it intersects with physician-administered drugs and Medicare Part B payment policies.
- • The role demands a proactive approach to identifying emerging policy trends and anticipating their future impact on the healthcare landscape.
- • You will contribute to the intellectual capital of the firm by developing thought leadership, participating in industry forums, and potentially authoring publications.
- • The Principal will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work products.
- • This includes overseeing junior staff, providing mentorship, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- • The ability to build and maintain strong client relationships is crucial, serving as a trusted advisor on complex policy matters.
- • Ultimately, this role offers a unique opportunity to influence healthcare policy, drive client success, and contribute to Avalere’s mission of improving patient access to care.
- • Your work will directly impact how healthcare is delivered and how patients receive critical treatments, particularly within the Medicare Part B framework.
- • We are looking for individuals who are passionate about healthcare policy, possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, and are eager to contribute to a mission-driven organization.
- • This position requires a deep understanding of the US healthcare system, with a specific emphasis on the nuances of Medicare Part B, drug pricing, and provider reimbursement mechanisms.
- • You will be instrumental in helping clients navigate the evolving policy landscape, ensuring they are well-positioned to adapt and thrive.

- • Proven ability to conduct complex policy analysis, synthesize information from various sources, and develop data-driven recommendations.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex policy issues clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including senior executives and clients.
- • Master's degree or PhD in Public Policy, Health Administration, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
