- • As a Principal Product Manager for Platform Engineering at Zillow Group, you will define and drive the product vision and strategy for internal platform offerings that power every Zillow product experience, enabling engineers to ship features rapidly and confidently with strong reliability and security.
- • You will own the strategic direction and vision for Platform Engineering, drive the end-to-end platform product roadmap from discovery through launch and iteration, and build deep empathy for internal developer customers to champion intuitive, reliable platforms that remove friction from their workflows.
- • You will partner closely with teams such as Developer Experience, Data Platform, and Security to ensure platform strategy addresses shared requirements and delivers measurable outcomes that advance Zillow’s mission of empowering people to unlock their life’s next chapter through real estate.
- • You will lead product rollouts and enablement to drive adoption, balance trade-offs across cost, reliability, compliance, security, and developer experience, and actively evangelize Platform Engineering best practices across the organization to help teams adopt standardized solutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of product management experience, ideally building large-scale internal platforms or developer-facing products that impact broad parts of an organization.
- • Proven ability to use data and insights to navigate ambiguous problem spaces and translate them into clear outcomes, priorities, and actionable roadmaps.
- • Track record of delivering complex, cross-team initiatives while balancing operational realities, customer needs, and engineering constraints, including governance and security considerations across the software development life cycle.
- • Strong communicator who collaborates effectively with engineers as both teammates and customers, influencing without authority and securing buy-in from diverse stakeholders across the organization.
- • Deep understanding of the end-to-end developer journey and how platform capabilities, paved paths, and tooling shape developer experience and productivity.
- • Solid grasp of the cloud-native ecosystem and modern cloud architectures, and the ability to apply that knowledge to platform product decisions.

- • Competitive base salary with geographic-based ranges (e.g., $178,300–$284,700 in CA, CT, MD, MA, NJ, NY, WA, DC; $169,300–$270,500 in CO, HI, IL, MN, NV, OH, RI, VT).
