📋 Description

• Build and test distributed database solutions that scale across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Enhance system performance and reliability by optimizing replication, sharding, and consistency models including Raft, MVCC, and ACID.
• Profile, debug, and fine-tune database performance using Linux/Unix tools such as perf, htop, and iostat.
• Maintain clean, reviewable codebases using Git and contribute to open-source projects.
• Shape infrastructure and build systems using CMake or Bazel.
• Configure and monitor system health and metrics using YAML/JSONnet, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Dive into Linux/Unix internals including systemd, cgroups, logging systems, and core dump analysis.
• Automate testing and performance validation through custom or industry-standard load-testing scripts such as YandexTank.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team to solve complex challenges in high-availability database systems.
• Work directly on core MariaDB technologies that power 75% of the Fortune 500 and impact billions of users daily.
• Ensure robustness and scalability of database systems under high-concurrency workloads.
• Participate in code reviews and engineering discussions to uphold high standards of software quality and maintainability.
• Contribute to the evolution of MariaDB’s distributed architecture through innovation and deep technical analysis.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in C++ (Python/Bash scripting a plus)
• Working knowledge of SQL (MariaDB/MySQL/PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts (concurrency, multithreading, ACID)
• Comfort with Linux/Unix systems (systemd, cgroups, logging, etc.) and debugging tools
• Understanding of performance profiling approaches
