📋 Description

• Counsel on privacy assessments and product-related matters to ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations
• Create and contribute to training materials, playbooks, and FAQ libraries to provide current privacy guidance to cross-functional teams
• Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy law, delivering practical, timely, and strategic legal advice on data privacy and security issues
• Monitor, brief, and advise on evolving privacy laws and regulatory developments, including leading the development and updates of internal policies, procedures, and compliance workplans
• Review marketing initiatives to ensure alignment with data protection requirements, including direct-to-consumer product and advertising campaigns
• Support the overall Privacy Program and risk management processes by identifying, assessing, and mitigating privacy-related risks
• Draft, review, and negotiate privacy and data security terms in contracts with business partners and vendors, including data processing agreements and data protection clauses
• Manage vendor privacy compliance, including oversight of vendor onboarding and offboarding processes related to data handling and protection
• Collaborate with legal, product, engineering, marketing, and operations teams to embed privacy-by-design principles into company initiatives
• Stay current on federal and state data privacy statutes such as CCPA, TCPA, and CAN-SPAM, as well as emerging regulations affecting the healthcare and direct-to-consumer space
• Provide legal guidance on data collection, use, sharing, and retention practices across GoodRx’s prescription savings platform and telehealth marketplace
• Ensure compliance with privacy obligations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while managing multiple priorities and unfamiliar legal questions
• Support internal audits and readiness efforts for regulatory scrutiny or enforcement actions related to consumer data practices
• Maintain awareness of industry best practices in data privacy and security, particularly within the healthcare technology sector

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active admission to a state bar
• 3 years of relevant in-house or law firm experience focused on data privacy matters
• Comprehensive understanding of U.S. data privacy laws including CCPA, TCPA, and CAN-SPAM
• Experience drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and privacy-related contract terms
• Proven track record of providing privacy advice on direct-to-consumer product and marketing initiatives
• Experience working cross-functionally on compliance matters in a fast-paced environment
