• • As a Product Counsel at Vetcove, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential legal guidance throughout the entire product development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with a diverse range of cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, marketing specialists, and compliance officers, ensuring that legal considerations are integrated from inception to launch. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of technology transactions, intellectual property licensing, privacy regulations, and general compliance matters. A key aspect of this role involves proactively identifying potential legal risks and ensuring strict adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, thereby safeguarding Vetcove's interests and fostering sustainable growth.
• • Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of legal activities critical to Vetcove's operations and product strategy. A significant portion of your work will involve the meticulous review and negotiation of a wide array of commercial contracts. This includes, but is not limited to, software licensing and SaaS agreements, critical vendor agreements, service level and support agreements, distribution agreements, Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), and various other strategic partnership agreements. Your expertise in drafting and negotiating these documents will be crucial in establishing strong, legally sound relationships with our partners and vendors.
• • You will serve as a trusted legal advisor to business partners across the entire organization. This involves providing timely and practical legal counsel to support business initiatives, with a particular emphasis on working hand-in-hand with the business and product teams during the exciting process of new product launches. Your insights will help navigate the legal landscape, enabling smooth and compliant introductions of new offerings to the market.
• • A core component of your role will be to contribute significantly to Vetcove’s robust privacy program. This includes the drafting and negotiation of DPAs, ensuring compliance with evolving data privacy laws and regulations. You will provide expert advice to business teams on critical aspects of consumer data collection, usage, and disclosure, maintaining the highest standards of data protection and user privacy.
• • You will be responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of essential customer-facing legal documentation. This includes drafting and updating terms of service, terms of use, disclaimers, and other critical legal notices that govern our user interactions and service delivery, ensuring clarity and legal robustness.
• • A proactive approach to risk mitigation is paramount. You will be tasked with assessing and mitigating potential legal risks associated with the introduction of new features, product updates, and overall product launches. This involves anticipating challenges and developing strategies to address them effectively before they impact the business.
• • Finally, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive legal strategies that are not only compliant but also strategically aligned with Vetcove's overarching business objectives, fostering innovation while maintaining legal integrity.
