Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Design and manage the product experience for a cloud-based government management platform used by U.S. municipalities to streamline permitting, inspections, reporting, and resident services.
- • Own the full product design cycle: conduct customer research, create wireframes and user flows, build prototypes, define final specs, and ship features without handoffs.
- • Work directly within AI-native tooling daily, including Claude Design and Lovable, as core components of your design and prototyping workflow—not as optional add-ons.
- • Partner with a hybrid designer/PM to cover the entire product surface, collaborating closely with embedded software engineers in small, autonomous pods.
- • Run end-to-end design sprints: plan, execute, and iterate on product improvements with measurable user outcomes, not just feature checklists.
- • Conduct in-depth customer interviews with non-technical government users, translate insights into actionable design decisions, and map complex public sector workflows.
- • Write clear product intents and acceptance criteria that align engineering and design teams, ensuring features meet real user needs.
- • Participate in grooming sessions and product planning cycles with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating ambiguity into structured design direction.
- • Communicate design rationale and product decisions clearly in writing and verbally to stakeholders with no design background, including municipal officials and operations teams.
- • Operate in a fast-paced, ambiguity-tolerant environment where priorities shift quickly and ownership is expected at every stage of the product lifecycle.
- • Collaborate directly with the client’s engineering and product leadership team, embedded as a full member of their U.S.-based government tech team.
- • Maintain alignment with the Director of Product and Design while independently driving design initiatives across multiple product areas.
- • Use AI tools to accelerate research synthesis, prototype iteration, and specification generation as part of your standard workflow.
- • Deliver designs that solve problems for public sector users who are not tech-savvy, prioritizing clarity, accessibility, and trust in government-facing interfaces.
- • Ensure all design outputs are grounded in real user behavior and outcomes, not assumptions or industry trends.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years in product design with meaningful product management experience
- • Strong customer research skills: ability to conduct effective interviews and derive actionable insights
- • Fluency in AI design and development tools such as Lovable, Claude, Make, or comparable platforms
- • Proven ability to run end-to-end design sprints, not just participate in them
- • Product instincts focused on user outcomes rather than feature lists
- • Clear written and verbal communication skills with non-technical stakeholders

- • 100% remote work
- • Payment in USD
