📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end design journey for Taxwell’s flagship consumer and professional tax products, translating complex IRS rules into elegant, step-by-step workflows that feel effortless to first-time filers and power users alike.
• • Partner daily with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and content strategists to define problem statements, map user journeys, and prioritize features that directly increase refund accuracy and filing confidence for millions of Americans.
• • Rapidly iterate from low-fidelity sketches to high-fidelity prototypes in Figma, validating concepts through moderated usability studies, A/B tests, and analytics; synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights that shape the roadmap.
• • Champion inclusive design by ensuring every screen, interaction, and microcopy meets WCAG 2.1 AA standards, so taxpayers with visual, motor, or cognitive impairments can file independently and with dignity.
• • Build and maintain a scalable design system of reusable components, tokens, and patterns that accelerate delivery across web, mobile web, and desktop applications while guaranteeing brand consistency and engineering efficiency.
• • Present design rationale to executives and cross-functional stakeholders, translating user empathy into measurable business impact—such as reduced drop-off, higher NPS, and increased conversion from free to paid tiers.
• • Contribute to a culture of experimentation by running design sprints, facilitating ideation workshops, and mentoring junior designers; actively seek feedback and iterate on your own craft to raise the bar for the entire Product Design org.
• • Balance creative exploration with pragmatic execution, managing multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities during the compressed January–April tax season without compromising quality or accessibility.
• • Stay ahead of industry trends—AI-driven tax guidance, conversational UI, mobile-first experiences—and propose forward-looking concepts that keep Taxwell at the forefront of fintech innovation.
• • Celebrate diversity of thought and lived experience; collaborate with our Employee Resource Groups to ensure product decisions reflect the broad spectrum of taxpayers we serve, from gig-economy workers to multi-state filers.
