  • • Evry Health, a major medical division of Globe Life, is on a mission to bring humanity to health insurance through high-technology plans that expand benefits, increase access and transparency, and feature a personalized, human approach. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Data Analyst to join our growing team. This pivotal role reports directly to the Chief Actuary and is instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making across our commercial health insurance operations.
  • • As a Senior Business Data Analyst, you will be at the forefront of transforming raw data into actionable insights. Your primary focus will be on analyzing complex health insurance data, including claims, policy details, and member information, to uncover critical trends, identify opportunities for improving the quality of care, and pinpoint strategies for cost reduction. This role demands a proactive, "roll up your sleeves" attitude combined with exceptional analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • • Your responsibilities will encompass the full data lifecycle, starting with robust data extraction and management. You will be adept at querying various sources and databases using advanced SQL to pull comprehensive health plan, member, provider, and operational data. This involves understanding data structures, optimizing queries for efficiency, and ensuring the accuracy of the data retrieved.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve in-depth data analysis. You will meticulously analyze large, diverse datasets to identify subtle trends, recurring patterns, and critical discrepancies. This analysis will span across various types of operating data, requiring you to connect disparate data points and synthesize information to provide a holistic view of our business performance and member health outcomes.
  • • Reporting and visualization are key components of this position. You will be responsible for creating compelling reports, interactive dashboards, and insightful visualizations that effectively communicate complex findings. These outputs must be easily digestible for a wide range of stakeholders, including both technical teams and non-technical business leaders, enabling them to understand the implications of the data and make informed strategic decisions.
  • • Collaboration is essential for success in this role. You will work closely with cross-functional teams throughout the company, including actuarial, operations, product development, and member services. This collaboration will involve managing diverse data requests, understanding business needs, and partnering to implement and evaluate data-driven solutions that address specific challenges and opportunities.
  • • Maintaining data integrity is paramount. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data systems. This involves proactively identifying discrepancies, investigating their root causes, and recommending and implementing robust data capture and maintenance standards and processes to uphold data quality across the organization.
  • • This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the United States. However, candidates must reside in either the Eastern (EST) or Central (CST) time zones to align with company business hours (9-5 CST) and facilitate effective collaboration. A dedicated, private workspace is required, along with a reliable high-speed internet connection, to ensure productivity and the security of sensitive company information.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in data analysis, with a preference for experience within the commercial health insurance sector. While not strictly required, familiarity with automation implementation would be a significant advantage, allowing for further optimization of data processes. You will be expected to interpret complex data, make sound, data-backed decisions, and communicate your findings clearly and persuasively, both in writing and verbally. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on the future of health insurance by leveraging data to enhance member well-being and operational efficiency.
