  • • Join Playbook, Inc. as a Product Designer and play a pivotal role in shaping the core functionalities that empower creators to manage their businesses and enable users to discover and engage with content. This is a deeply product-focused opportunity, distinct from brand or marketing design, where you will be instrumental in crafting the user journeys for both creators and consumers within our dynamic marketplace.
  • • Your primary focus will be on designing intuitive and robust product workflows. This includes the intricate processes creators undertake to set up and manage their offerings – from defining pricing structures and access tiers to organizing their content libraries and understanding audience engagement through insightful analytics. Simultaneously, you will design the user-facing experiences that guide individuals in understanding the value proposition of creator content, navigating purchase options, and managing their subscriptions and access rights.
  • • You will collaborate intimately with Product Managers to deeply understand complex requirements and translate them into clear, practical, and user-friendly designs. This partnership extends to working closely with our Engineering team, ensuring that your designs are not only innovative but also technically feasible and maintainable within real-world usage scenarios. Your ability to anticipate and address edge cases and system behaviors early in the design process will be crucial in streamlining development and preventing costly late-stage revisions.
  • • The scope of your work will encompass a variety of critical areas within the Playbook platform:
  • • Creator-facing tools: Design comprehensive solutions for creators to establish and manage their online businesses. This involves creating interfaces for setting up products, defining subscription models, managing content access levels, and visualizing key audience insights to inform their business strategies.
  • • User-facing flows: Develop seamless and informative experiences for users seeking to discover, understand, and purchase content. This includes designing clear pathways for browsing, evaluating offerings, completing transactions, and managing their accounts and subscriptions.
  • • Marketplace connectivity: Craft experiences that foster meaningful connections between creators and users, enhancing the overall marketplace ecosystem and encouraging engagement.
  • • Cross-platform design: Ensure a consistent and high-quality experience across both web and mobile platforms, accounting for the unique interaction patterns and constraints of each.
  • • System behavior design: Design for complex system rules, including managing user access states, entitlement management, and the lifecycle of subscriptions and content access, ensuring a predictable and reliable user experience.
  • • On a day-to-day basis, you will engage in:
  • • Problem definition: Partner with Product to thoroughly understand the 'why' behind a feature or problem before ideating on solutions.
  • • Flow design: Create clear, practical, and efficient user flows that are intuitive for both creators and users to navigate.
  • • Proactive problem-solving: Anticipate and design for edge cases, system states, and potential technical constraints from the outset, rather than as an afterthought.
  • • Iterative design: Share your work frequently and openly with cross-functional teams to gather feedback, unblock progress, and ensure alignment.
  • • Adaptability: Be prepared to adjust designs based on valuable feedback, technical limitations, and evolving project requirements.
  • • Consistency: Contribute to maintaining a cohesive product experience across the platform without introducing unnecessary complexity.
  • • We are seeking a Product Designer who thrives in a collaborative environment and possesses a strong product sensibility. This role is ideal for individuals who have a proven track record of designing tools that empower users to run businesses, moving beyond purely content-browsing interfaces. You should be comfortable navigating technical constraints and proactively considering system states, edge cases, and necessary trade-offs during the design process. The ability to design effectively for both web and mobile environments, coupled with a capacity to manage multiple design challenges concurrently, is essential. Strong collaboration skills with Product and Engineering teams, and the ability to make decisive recommendations rather than simply presenting options, are highly valued. A genuine curiosity about the creator economy, fitness, or health-related businesses will be a significant asset.
