- • As a Product Engineer at Stand Insurance Company, you will play a pivotal role in building a next-generation risk engine that transforms how property risk is modeled, underwritten, and mitigated using advanced physics and AI—turning scientific insights into real-world insurance outcomes that protect homeowners and reshape the industry.
- • You will own critical systems across the full insurance lifecycle, including policy administration, underwriting workflows, claims processing, payments, and innovative customer-facing products like wildfire preparedness inspections and risk monitoring tools, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and directly tied to risk reduction and revenue impact.
- • Working closely with applied scientists, product leaders, and stakeholders, you will translate complex domain challenges into shippable systems, make product-informed technical decisions, and productionize models and pipelines that influence risk assessment, pricing accuracy, and customer behavior.
- • You will exercise engineering leadership by owning entire problem spaces—from architecture and reliability to long-term evolution—balancing speed and rigor while using modern tools like LLMs and agents to increase team velocity and reduce operational drag.
- • This role empowers you to drive product direction through strong product judgment, clear communication, and end-to-end ownership, allowing you to grow as a technical leader who codes, decides, and delivers impact in a high-accountability, mission-driven environment.
- • You will deepen your expertise in building durable, production-grade systems in ambiguous, high-stakes domains, gaining experience in regulated industries, AI-augmented engineering, and startup-scale innovation—all while contributing to a platform that prevents loss before it occurs.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience owning and shipping production systems using a modern programming language such as Python, Ruby, or Rust
- • Experience deploying, operating, and monitoring applications on modern PaaS or cloud platforms like Heroku, Vercel, or Railway
- • Track record of end-to-end project ownership, including direct collaboration with stakeholders and end users
- • Comfort learning new tools, frameworks, and domains quickly
- • Practical experience using LLMs to improve engineering workflows, system design, or developer productivity
