📋 Description

• Implement features across the full stack—including backend, frontend, IDE extensions, and conversion logic—primarily using Python or other adopted languages, adapting to where work is needed.
• Use agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) as the default implementation method, writing specifications for simple, well-bounded features and submitting them for review by the CPO.
• Become a modernisation specialist by developing deep expertise in mapping legacy data integration tools (Informatica, SSIS, Talend, IICS) to modern data stacks (dbt, Fivetran, cloud data warehouses).
• Read, challenge, and explain every line of code merged into the codebase, including code generated by AI agents; identify and prevent hallucinated APIs, spec drift, and plausible-but-wrong outputs.
• Write failing tests derived directly from acceptance criteria before writing any implementation code; no pull request is accepted without accompanying tests.
• Log every agent failure mode into the team’s prompt and skill backlog to enable continuous improvement and institutional knowledge accumulation.
• Deliver agreed-upon feature slices per fortnight, with throughput increasing as autonomy grows, as defined in collaboration with the Chief Product Officer.
• Maintain at least 90% spec adherence in pull requests after three months, minimizing rework by ensuring outputs strictly match acceptance criteria.
• Reduce change failure rate in UAT and production by rigorously validating merged code and catching errors before deployment.
• Demonstrate full code comprehension during reviews by explaining and defending every line of merged code, with agent-driven errors decreasing over time as control improves.
• By month 12, become the go-to team member for at least one source-vendor mapping pattern (e.g., how a specific Talend job maps to a dbt model).
• By 12 months, author and secure sign-off from the Founding Architect on a small subsystem spec from conception to completion.
• Work autonomously in a distributed, international team with English as the sole internal communication language.
• Maintain ultimate human ownership over all shipped code, ensuring AI agents serve as tools under strict human oversight.
• Continuously refine understanding of data transformation concepts and SQL, applying them to real-world legacy-to-modern migration scenarios.

🎯 Requirements

• 1 to 5 years of software engineering experience or a strong portfolio of self-directed projects
• Day-to-day use of at least one agentic coding tool (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor), not occasional use
• Ability to write and read code across the stack (backend, frontend, IDE extension), primarily in Python, and explain every line of merged code
• Working knowledge of SQL and data transformation concepts; exposure to dbt, Fivetran, Snowflake, or Databricks is useful
• Demonstrated ability to identify and correct agent-generated errors, with a specific example required in interview
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience
