- • As a Product Engineer - AI at Alma Health, Inc., you will be at the forefront of building an AI-native law firm that is transforming immigration legal services through cutting-edge technology. Your work will directly impact how companies and individuals navigate complex immigration processes by creating reliable, user-centered AI-powered tools that reduce cost and increase accessibility.
- • Day to day, you will own AI-powered features from concept to production — designing agentic pipelines and RAG architectures, developing backend services with FastAPI and PostgreSQL, building React-based user interfaces, and implementing evaluation systems to ensure AI outputs meet real-world legal standards. You will collaborate closely with the founding team, internal legal staff, and early customers to translate user needs into shipped product experiences.

- • In this role, you will develop mastery in production-grade AI systems, full-stack engineering, and AI-assisted development workflows. You will learn to balance model performance with user outcomes, build observability for AI reliability, and become a force multiplier by leveraging coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor to ship high-quality features at unprecedented speed — all while working on a mission-driven product with real impact on people’s lives.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of experience building production AI/LLM-powered features — not research prototypes, but systems that real users depend on
- • Strong fundamentals in RAG architectures, prompt engineering, agentic frameworks, and LLM orchestration
- • Experience designing evaluation and quality systems for AI outputs — you've built evals, human-in-the-loop review flows, or regression detection pipelines
- • Proficient in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, containerization and scaling microservices
- • Comfortable in (or excited to ramp on) TypeScript, React, and modern frontend tooling
- • Daily, hands-on use of modern coding harnesses (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or equivalent) — not as autocomplete, but as a primary way of shipping production code
