- • As a Product Engineer at Tempo Labs Inc., you will play a pivotal role in bringing blockchain technology to real-world payment use cases by building first-party products like Tempo Wallet and directly integrating the Tempo blockchain into customer payment systems. Your work will bridge the gap between cutting-edge blockchain infrastructure and practical financial applications, enabling fintechs, banks, merchants, and platforms to move money reliably, cheaply, and at scale.
- • You will be responsible for developing internal and customer-facing applications on the Tempo layer-1 blockchain, partnering with startups and enterprises to embed Tempo into their stablecoin and payment flows, rapidly learning and navigating unfamiliar codebases and organizational structures to ship products, synthesizing field insights to improve the product and developer experience, and maintaining a deep technical understanding of the blockchain’s capabilities and limitations to inform both product and protocol evolution.
- • Tempo Labs is a mission-driven team of crypto-optimists backed by Stripe’s payments expertise and Paradigm’s crypto innovation, building a layer-1 blockchain designed specifically for stablecoins and real-world payments. Backed by design partners including Anthropic, Coupang, Deutsche Bank, DoorDash, Mercury, Nubank, OpenAI, Revolut, Shopify, Standard Chartered, Visa, and others, the company is focused on creating simple, scalable, low-cost infrastructure for high-volume money movement onchain.
- • In this role, you will gain end-to-end exposure to the product lifecycle—from ideation and development to deployment, customer feedback, and iteration—while working across startups, mid-market companies, and enterprises. You’ll develop rare fluency in both blockchain systems and real-world payment mechanics, positioning yourself as a versatile builder capable of navigating technical ambiguity and driving impact in fast-moving, high-stakes environments.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of full-stack engineering experience, including at least 1 year of hands-on experience in cryptocurrency or blockchain development
- • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams and non-technical stakeholders such as product, design, and business units
- • Proven track record of shipping mission-critical systems where safety, reliability, and uptime are paramount
- • Ability and willingness to travel within the United States to work directly with partners and customers on integration and deployment efforts
- • Demonstrated ability to balance speed, pragmatism, and technical quality when making engineering trade-offs under uncertainty
