Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Own end-to-end UI and product features in Horizon, defining what "done" looks like from user problem to shipped, polished experience.
- • Set the bar for how users interact with Horizon by shaping web app experience, user flows, and information architecture to make complex governance concepts legible and intuitive.
- • Apply deep front-end craft using TypeScript, React, and modern UI libraries (e.g., TanStack), with strong understanding of underlying web technologies to guide AI tools rather than rely on them for technical direction.
- • Collaborate as a thought partner with the Horizon engineering team to co-own product and UX direction, ensuring shared accountability and high standards for the product surface.
- • Translate enterprise customer signals — including gateway plugins, PII filtering, audit logs, and SCIM — into intuitive product experiences that resonate with security-minded and platform-minded buyers.
- • Write maintainable, performant full-stack code with primary focus on the product surface, capable of delivering across the stack when required by feature needs.
- • Develop deep product knowledge of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) ecosystem and AI/LLM tooling landscape, staying current with industry evolution.
- • Participate in on-call and incident response to maintain production reliability standards for Horizon, an enterprise-grade MCP gateway used for mission-critical workloads.
- • Partner directly with CEO, Go-To-Market teams, and early customers to rapidly turn field feedback into working software.
- • Ship features in high-ambiguity, early-stage environments without a dedicated product manager or design team, pulling context from across the organization and pushing back when necessary.
- • Use AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) as force multipliers by providing human- and machine-legible specs, holding accountability for their outputs, and knowing when they hinder progress.
- • Contribute to a remote-first culture focused on high performance, autonomy, and authentic belonging, where every team member directly advances the company’s vision and mission.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience with a front-end focus and demonstrated success shipping intuitive, user-facing products.
- • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and modern UI libraries (e.g., TanStack), with deep understanding of underlying web technologies to guide AI tools rather than depend on them.
- • Proven track record of shipping products in early-stage environments without dedicated PM or design teams, with senior-level judgment to pull context and push back on UX.
- • Strong product and UX judgment focused on user flows, information architecture, and real-world product usage — not styling or pure user research.
- • Experience building with or genuine interest in the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI/LLM tooling ecosystem.
- • Real fluency with AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex), including the ability to direct them with clear specs and maintain accountability for their outputs.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote-first work environment with global team collaboration.
- • Opportunity to shape the product surface of an enterprise-grade MCP gateway used by Fortune 500 companies and fast-growing startups.
- • Direct partnership with CEO, GTM teams, and early customers to turn field signal into product quickly.
- • Culture focused on autonomy, high performance, and authentic belongingness where team members contribute as their most authentic selves.
