Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Product Manager for Pricing & Billing at Supabase, you will own one of the most strategic levers in the business—designing pricing structures that directly influence developer acquisition, retention, and expansion across both product-led growth and enterprise sales channels. This role treats pricing not as a financial afterthought but as a core product experience, where your decisions shape whether developers choose Supabase on day one, scale with confidence, and remain loyal through hypergrowth.
- • You will lead company-wide initiatives to rethink how Supabase bills for compute, unify credit systems, and build a scalable pricing architecture that evolves with new infrastructure primitives, global expansion, and emerging workloads. This includes partnering with Product, Engineering, Finance, GTM, and billing teams to design transparent, predictable, and monetization-aligned systems that serve millions of developers while supporting long-term business health.
- • You will proactively design and run pricing experiments across plans, usage dimensions, and packaging to measure elasticity, expansion behavior, and conversion impact—using data to uncover friction points, uncaptured value, and unintended penalties in current offerings, then iterating rapidly to improve fairness and fuel growth.
- • You will collaborate closely with commercial leadership to evolve Supabase’s monetization strategy across PLG and sales-led motions, ensuring pricing aligns with product innovation, infrastructure economics, and go-to-market execution—turning pricing into a growth engine rather than a barrier.
- • You will earn credibility across technical, commercial, and executive audiences by demonstrating deep understanding of infrastructure costs (compute, storage, bandwidth, egress), LTV/CAC dynamics, and margin implications—translating complex trade-offs into clear, developer-friendly pricing that builds trust and drives adoption.
- • You will operate in a fully remote, async-first environment where writing is prioritized over meetings, documentation is standard practice, and decisions are circulated transparently—enabling you to drive impact regardless of location while maintaining alignment across time zones and functions.
- • You will join a globally distributed, open-source-first team of 280+ people across 55+ countries, where you’ll contribute to a mission-driven culture that builds in public, uses its own products, and values developer empathy as a core competency—giving you the autonomy to shape pricing as a craft, not just a function.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience at the intersection of Product and Growth in an infrastructure or database company with a strong product-led growth (PLG) motion, where developers are the primary customer and pricing is a strategic lever.
- • Proven expertise in consumption-based billing models, including designing and implementing scalable pricing architectures across multiple products and plans, with direct experience aligning pricing with infrastructure cost economics and usage patterns.
- • Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and learn from pricing experiments that measure elasticity, expansion behavior, and conversion impact across both PLG and sales-led channels, using data to drive iterative improvements.
- • Deep technical fluency in infrastructure concepts (compute, storage, bandwidth, egress) and the ability to read and interpret pricing pages from a developer’s perspective, earning credibility with engineering and product teams.
- • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively with Product, Engineering, Finance, GTM, and leadership teams to drive pricing changes that balance developer trust with business outcomes.
- • Comfortable in a fully remote, asynchronous work environment, with a bias for written communication, documentation, and proactive decision-making without relying on meetings.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote work with global hiring—no office requirement, supported by a WeWork membership or co-working allowance usable anywhere in the world.
- • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), granting equity ownership in Supabase so every team member shares in the company’s long-term upside.
- • Annual tech allowance to customize your ideal work setup—covering laptop, monitor, peripherals, or other tools that enhance productivity and comfort.
- • 100% company-paid health insurance for employees and 80% coverage for dependents, available globally regardless of location.
- • Annual company-wide off-site retreat, where the entire team gathers in a new city for a week of connection, collaboration, and celebration— a hallmark of Supabase culture.
- • Flexible, asynchronous work model that trusts you to manage your own time and schedule, with emphasis on outcomes over hours.
- • Annual professional development allowance for courses, books, conferences, or other learning investments to support continuous growth.
