- • As a Property Tax Specialist at Valon VM Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of real estate tax payments for mortgaged properties, directly supporting homeowner satisfaction and regulatory compliance within a fast-growing, technology-driven mortgage servicing platform managing over $130 billion in loans.
- • You will execute day-to-day tax operations including analyzing escrow sufficiency, overseeing tax disbursements via check or wire, processing tax refunds, monitoring delinquent taxes, liaising with third-party vendors, and communicating with homeowners and tax authorities to resolve issues and maintain SLA adherence.
- • You will join Valon’s Loan Administration team, which powers essential back-end operations for servicing and lending, working in a collaborative, innovation-focused environment where your contributions help maintain seamless homeowner experiences and support the company’s mission to simplify and empower the mortgage journey.
- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in property tax compliance, escrow management, and mortgage servicing operations while gaining exposure to AI-native systems and cross-functional projects, positioning you for growth within Valon’s expanding regulated finance platform.
- • You will strengthen your analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills by managing complex tax workflows, leading vendor scorecard audits, driving resolution of compliance issues, and supporting team initiatives—all within a mission-driven company backed by Andreessen Horowitz that values diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED equivalent required
- • 2+ years of experience in mortgage servicing within an escrow function or as a tax service provider
- • Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae servicing experience preferred
- • Excellent critical thinking and logical reasoning abilities
- • Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced, change-oriented environments
- • Must be available to collaborate and communicate in regularly held in-person meetings
