📋 Description

• We are seeking a Property Tax Specialist to join our team in Miami, Florida.
• The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of direct, hands-on Florida experience filing residential property tax appeals.
• You will be responsible for reviewing our property tax appeal software, flagging potential issues, and providing guidance on how to improve the product.
• You will need to have a deep understanding of the Florida Value Adjustment Board process, including the 25-day filing window, partial-payment requirement, and county-level differences.
• You will also need to be procedurally sharp, with knowledge of every step of the appeals process.
• We are looking for someone who has built their knowledge through filings or arguing petitions, not advising on property tax from a distance.
• You will be working as an independent contractor, with a flexible schedule of 5-10 hours per week.
• There is a potential for a full-time permanent role if the product sees traction.
• You will be responsible for providing regulatory grounding, county-level reality, filing mechanics, and hearings and evidence guidance.
• You will need to be able to describe why Broward is different from Hillsborough without looking it up.
• You will need to have personal experience filing or arguing petitions before a Florida VAB, or adjudicating them as a special magistrate.
• You will need to be able to work across hundreds of parcels and recognize patterns before they become a problem.
• You will need to be able to guide our design and help correct things before we push it to production.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of direct, hands-on Florida experience filing residential property tax appeals.
• Personal experience filing or arguing petitions before a Florida VAB, or adjudicating them as a special magistrate.
• No active conflict: not currently advising another company building consumer property tax appeal software.
