- • Design and implement multi-file coding tasks focused on bug resolution, feature development, refactoring, and test generation in production-like environments.
- • Write clear, detailed natural-language specifications and reference implementations that accurately define coding challenges for peer evaluation.
- • Develop and extend comprehensive unit and integration test suites using frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing to validate code correctness and edge case handling.
- • Review peer-generated coding tasks for correctness, clarity, realism, and alignment with specified requirements.
- • Identify edge cases, ambiguities, logical flaws, and potential failure modes in submitted code and specifications.
- • Ensure strict alignment between task specifications, reference implementations, and expected outputs across all deliverables.
- • Contribute to the creation of production-realistic software engineering scenarios used for training and evaluating AI models.
- • Navigate and debug large, complex, multi-file codebases to understand context, dependencies, and architectural patterns.
- • Participate in code reviews and refactoring activities to improve code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
- • Perform production migrations and codebase updates as part of task design, ensuring backward compatibility and minimal disruption.
- • Work on a project-based, part-time consultant basis with full control over schedule and workload.
- • Deliver high-quality, validated artifacts including reference code, test suites, and structured peer review feedback.
- • Operate independently using personal tools and infrastructure; no company-provided equipment or software is provided.
- • May concurrently provide consulting services to other vendors or employers, provided those arrangements do not conflict with this role’s requirements.
- • Receive payment on a per-project basis, with rates estimated based on anticipated time to complete each task.
🎯 Requirements
- • Advanced professional written proficiency in English
- • 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience
- • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; working knowledge of Java, C#, or Go
- • Backend or full-stack development experience in production systems
- • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, Go testing)
- • Proven ability to debug and navigate large, multi-file codebases
