- • Design and implement multi-file coding tasks focused on bug resolution, feature development, refactoring, and test generation for production-grade software systems.
- • Write clear, precise natural-language specifications and reference implementations that accurately define coding challenges and expected outcomes.
- • Develop and extend comprehensive unit and integration test suites using frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing to validate code correctness and robustness.
- • Review peer-generated coding tasks for correctness, clarity, realism, and alignment with specifications, identifying edge cases, ambiguities, and potential failure modes.
- • Ensure strict alignment between task specifications, reference code, and expected outputs to maintain high-quality, production-realistic evaluation materials.
- • Navigate and debug large, complex, multi-file codebases to assess code quality, architecture, and maintainability in realistic software engineering scenarios.
- • Participate in code reviews and refactoring exercises to evaluate best practices in software design, modularity, and performance optimization.
- • Contribute to production migrations by designing realistic migration scenarios that reflect real-world technical debt and system evolution challenges.
- • Operate as an independent project-based consultant with full control over schedule and workflow, delivering high-quality outputs on a per-project basis.
- • Work remotely with no fixed hours, providing own tools and infrastructure, and maintaining the flexibility to engage with other vendors or employers where permitted.
- • Collaborate with an AI lab by creating realistic software engineering tasks used to evaluate and train AI systems on human-like coding behavior and problem-solving.
- • Generate structured, actionable feedback on peer submissions, focusing on technical accuracy, code readability, testing completeness, and adherence to best practices.
- • Maintain professional written proficiency in English to produce clear, unambiguous specifications, reviews, and documentation for global technical audiences.
- • Apply 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience to design tasks that reflect authentic challenges encountered in production environments.
- • Leverage strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, with working knowledge of Java, C#, or Go, to build diverse and technically rich evaluation scenarios.
- • Demonstrate proven experience in backend or full-stack development within live production systems to ensure task realism and technical validity.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience
- • Advanced professional written proficiency in English
- • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; working knowledge of Java, C#, or Go
- • Backend or full-stack development experience in production systems
- • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, Go testing)
- • Proven ability to debug and navigate large, multi-file codebases
