As our QA Automation Engineer in Colombia (fully remote), you will own the end-to-end quality strategy for cutting-edge web, mobile and omnichannel products that reach millions of users daily.
- • Design, build and maintain robust, scalable test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium or equivalent) that integrate seamlessly with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- • Write clear, maintainable and reusable automated test scripts (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or C#) covering functional, regression, API, performance and accessibility scenarios, ensuring 90 %+ critical-path coverage within the first three months.
- • Champion a “shift-left” quality mindset by embedding testing early in the SDLC: collaborate with Product Owners, UX designers and developers during discovery, story refinement and sprint planning to define testable acceptance criteria and prevent defects before code is written.
- • Execute risk-based testing strategies that prioritize business impact; triage, root-cause and document defects with concise reproduction steps, screenshots, logs and videos, driving defect-removal efficiency above industry benchmarks.
- • Establish and monitor quality KPIs (defect escape rate, test execution time, build stability, code coverage) and present actionable insights to stakeholders in sprint reviews and quarterly business reviews.
- • Contribute to Valtech’s global QA community of practice by leading internal guild sessions, writing blog posts, creating reusable libraries and mentoring junior engineers—accelerating collective expertise across five continents.
- • Continuously research and pilot emerging test tools (visual regression, contract testing, synthetic monitoring, AI-driven test generation) to keep our tech stack modern and competitive.
- • Participate in client consulting workshops, translating complex business requirements into pragmatic test strategies that balance speed, cost and risk—often under tight deadlines and evolving scope.
- • Advocate for inclusive design by integrating WCAG 2.1 accessibility checks and localization testing into automation suites, ensuring every user—regardless of ability or geography—enjoys a flawless experience.
- • Embrace an Agile/Scrum environment (two-week sprints, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) while leveraging your consulting acumen to adapt processes to each client’s culture and maturity level.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of hands-on experience writing automated tests for web and/or mobile applications using modern frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, etc.).
- • Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in test automation: Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or C#.
- • Demonstrated experience integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI or similar).
- • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) and experience working in cross-functional teams.
- • Nice-to-have: prior consulting experience, performance testing with JMeter or k6, cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) and/or accessibility testing expertise.
