QA Automation Lead (API+UI) - India

📋 Description

• • Lead end-to-end quality assurance strategy for complex distributed systems, microservices, and backend APIs, ensuring release readiness and product excellence across frontend and backend systems.
• • Review technical design documents and API specifications (Swagger/OpenAPI) using AI-assisted analysis to evaluate system testability, identify edge cases, and detect integration bottlenecks.
• • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to define and execute a comprehensive automation roadmap for new feature releases, aligning testing efforts with product timelines and business goals.
• • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test suites for RESTful and GraphQL APIs using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or Locust, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
• • Build and extend backend automation frameworks using Python, leveraging AI-powered tools like Cursor, Augment, or Gemini to accelerate test authoring, debug automation scripts, and optimize documentation workflows.
• • Automate frontend testing using Playwright to validate user interactions, UI states, and end-to-end workflows, ensuring consistency across browsers and devices.
• • Establish and enforce QA best practices, coding standards, and rigorous code review processes for the automation team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and proactive problem-solving.
• • Develop automated test result reports that surface quality risks, trends, and coverage gaps to support data-driven “Go/No-Go” release decisions.
• • Identify, troubleshoot, and track bugs to resolution using AI tools for root cause analysis and log interpretation, reducing mean time to resolution (MTTR) for critical issues.
• • Own the continuous testing component within the CI/CD pipeline, integrating automated tests into build and deployment workflows to ensure quality is embedded at every stage of the SDLC.
• • Maintain comprehensive test plans, author detailed test cases, and execute both manual and automated tests in alignment with Agile development cycles.
• • Collaborate with engineering teams to advocate for an automation-first approach, identifying opportunities to reduce manual testing effort and increase test coverage.
• • Utilize relational databases and SQL for data validation, query verification, and backend state checks during testing cycles.
• • Operate effectively in cloud environments using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes to validate deployment configurations, containerized services, and infrastructure-dependent behaviors.
• • Manage test artifacts and workflows using version control (Git), test management tools (TestRail), and issue-tracking platforms (Jira) to ensure traceability and collaboration.
• • Work independently in fast-paced Agile teams with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize based on risk and impact.
• • Communicate test outcomes, quality metrics, and risk assessments clearly and effectively in English to technical and non-technical stakeholders across global teams.
• • Contribute to performance and load testing initiatives to validate system behavior under stress, scalability, and high-concurrency scenarios.
• • Champion AI-augmented development by integrating LLM-powered tools into all phases of testing—from test case generation to script optimization and documentation.
• • Serve as the primary quality advocate across product teams, ensuring the end-user experience is prioritized in every release cycle.
