Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As the Founding QA Engineer at Weekday 1, you will be instrumental in shaping and safeguarding the quality of our core product and its bespoke client implementations. This is a pivotal role where you will establish the foundational QA processes, ensuring that every release, from initial demonstrations to full-scale enterprise deployments, meets the highest standards of stability, reliability, and performance.
- • You will be entrusted with the end-to-end testing lifecycle, meticulously designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test cases. This includes functional testing to verify core features, regression testing to ensure new changes haven't introduced defects, and integration testing to confirm seamless interaction between different modules and external systems.
- • A significant aspect of your role will involve collaborating closely with our development team. You will be the first line of defense in identifying, reproducing, and validating fixes for reported issues, acting as a critical bridge between development and quality assurance.
- • Your responsibilities extend beyond internal testing to encompass client-specific deployments. You will partner with Account Managers and Customer Success Managers to conduct thorough end-to-end testing of client implementations, ensuring that all event workflows and integrations function flawlessly before client launch.
- • A key challenge and opportunity will be to verify that client customizations, while essential for their unique needs, do not inadvertently compromise the integrity or functionality of the core product. This requires a deep understanding of both the product's architecture and the specific requirements of each client.
- • From the outset, you will be tasked with establishing and implementing robust QA processes, defining best practices, and creating standardized templates for all testing activities. This includes setting up efficient bug tracking and reporting mechanisms, likely utilizing tools such as JIRA or ClickUp, to ensure clarity and traceability.
- • You will proactively identify recurring problems and leverage this insight to suggest and implement preventive testing strategies, aiming to reduce the overall defect rate and improve product robustness.
- • Furthermore, you will explore and champion opportunities for the gradual automation of repetitive test scenarios. This forward-thinking approach will enhance testing efficiency, allowing the team to focus on more complex and exploratory testing.
- • Quality Assurance sign-offs will be your responsibility for every release and deployment, providing the final stamp of approval that the product is ready for its intended audience.
- • You will be responsible for tracking and reporting on key quality metrics, including defect trends, regression patterns, and overall release reliability. This data-driven approach will inform continuous improvement efforts.
- • Clear and concise communication of the quality status, potential risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership and stakeholders will be paramount, ensuring alignment and informed decision-making across the organization.
- • This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in the fast-paced, dynamic environment of a startup, possess a strong sense of accountability for quality outcomes, and demonstrate both sharp analytical skills and empathetic user-centric thinking. You will act as both a meticulous builder of quality and a discerning user of the product.
