📋 Description

• As a QA Engineer at Ruby Labs Ltd., you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability and reliability of a high-impact payments platform during frequent releases and urgent hotfixes, directly safeguarding financial transactions and user trust in a fast-paced, Kanban-driven environment.
• Your work will focus on risk-based testing of payment flows, API validation, and maintaining pragmatic regression suites that balance speed with safety, enabling the team to ship confidently without compromising critical payment routes.
• Day to day, you will perform manual testing of new features, fixes, and hotfixes across Web UI and APIs, validating functionality and identifying regressions in real time.
• You will define test scope based on financial and customer impact using risk-based testing principles, clearly communicating residual risks to stakeholders to inform release decisions.
• You will conduct API and end-to-end validation of REST APIs, asynchronous flows, and webhooks using tools like Postman or Newman, ensuring data integrity and correct state transitions.
• You will verify data consistency in PostgreSQL by validating records, joins, and state transitions, with a strong grasp of idempotency and retry mechanisms in payment systems.
• You will own and continuously improve smoke and regression test suites for critical payment flows, turning production incidents into new test cases or monitoring checks to prevent recurrence.
• You will collaborate closely with engineers and product managers to clarify requirements, reproduce issues, and verify fixes, acting as a quality gate in a continuous delivery pipeline.
• You will produce concise QA notes per release, summarizing scope, results, identified risks, and follow-up actions to support transparency and decision-making.
• You will work within a CET-aligned remote environment, enjoying flexibility while maintaining strong collaboration with a globally distributed team focused on innovation in health, education, and entertainment products.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in QA with strong manual testing fundamentals.
• Strong API testing skills using Postman/Newman, curl, or Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Practical understanding of payment concepts including auth vs capture, refunds, webhooks, idempotency, and retries.
• Basic SQL proficiency in PostgreSQL for validating records, joins, and state transitions.
• Experience with logs and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Kibana/ELK, or Sentry.
• Comfort working in a Kanban environment with no fixed sprints and rapidly changing requirements.
• Good written and spoken English for effective remote, asynchronous communication.
