• • In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our payment systems amidst frequent releases and the occasional need for urgent hotfixes. We operate within a flexible Kanban and continuous delivery framework, which means you should be adept at navigating evolving priorities, defining test scopes with precision, building efficient and lightweight test coverage, and contributing to rapid deployment cycles without compromising the stability of our core payment functionalities.
• • Your primary focus will be on implementing robust risk-based testing strategies for all payment flows. This involves meticulously analyzing potential impacts on financial transactions and customer experience, and proactively identifying and communicating any residual risks. You will be responsible for end-to-end API validation, ensuring the seamless operation of REST APIs, asynchronous processes, and critical webhook integrations. A significant part of your role will involve developing and maintaining pragmatic regression and smoke checklists, striking an optimal balance between the need for speed in our delivery pipeline and the imperative of ensuring system safety and reliability.
• • Key responsibilities include performing comprehensive manual testing across Web UI and APIs to validate new features, bug fixes, and hotfixes. You will meticulously define test scopes based on the potential financial and customer impact of any changes, and clearly articulate any identified residual risks to stakeholders. A core aspect of your work will involve end-to-end API validation, including testing REST APIs, asynchronous flows, and webhooks, leveraging tools like Postman/Newman or equivalent.
• • You will also be responsible for data validation, ensuring the accuracy of state transitions and side effects within our PostgreSQL database. A deep understanding of concepts such as idempotency and retry mechanisms will be essential for this. You will own the maintenance and continuous improvement of our smoke and regression suites, with a particular emphasis on critical payment routes, ensuring they remain effective and up-to-date.
• • A vital part of our QA process is converting production incidents into actionable improvements. You will be tasked with transforming identified production issues into new regression test cases or enhanced monitoring checks, thereby strengthening our proactive defect prevention capabilities. Close collaboration with engineers and Product Managers is paramount; you will work hand-in-hand with them to clarify requirements, meticulously reproduce reported issues, and efficiently verify the effectiveness of implemented fixes.
• • Furthermore, you will be responsible for providing concise and informative QA notes for each release. These reports will encapsulate the scope of testing, the results obtained, any identified risks, and recommended follow-up actions, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making across the team.
