- • As the QA Manager at Foundation Healthcare, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the quality and reliability of our revolutionary AI-powered digital pharmacy platform. This is a pivotal role where you will not only lead a talented QA team but also actively contribute to shaping the future of healthcare delivery through meticulous testing and a commitment to excellence.
- • Foundation Healthcare is at the forefront of transforming patient-centric care by seamlessly integrating operational infrastructure with exceptional patient experiences. Our mission is to simplify complex healthcare workflows, optimize care coordination, and eliminate friction points throughout the patient journey. We are an AI-native company, leveraging artificial intelligence to maximize efficiency and automate mundane tasks, allowing our team to focus on innovation and impactful work.
- • In this role, you will be the ultimate gatekeeper for product quality, ensuring that every release meets the highest standards before reaching our users. This requires a unique blend of leadership, strategic thinking, and hands-on technical expertise. You will have the autonomy to define and implement our QA culture, standards, and overarching strategy from the ground up, establishing best practices that will guide our growth.
- • You will be responsible for building and nurturing a high-performing QA team. This involves attracting top talent, mentoring junior testers, and fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. While leading your team, you will also remain comfortably "in the trenches," actively participating in manual and exploratory testing to maintain a deep understanding of our platform's intricacies and user experience.
- • A core aspect of your role will be to champion an AI-native mindset within the QA function. You will be expected to embrace and utilize AI tools to enhance your own productivity and guide your team in testing AI-powered systems. This includes exploring and implementing cutting-edge tools and methodologies to ensure the robustness and accuracy of our AI features.
- • You will be the primary owner of end-to-end testing processes, from initial development through to final release. This includes designing and executing comprehensive test plans, developing and maintaining automated test suites, and performing in-depth regression testing to identify and resolve defects.
- • A significant part of your responsibility will involve leading and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with our external clients. You will ensure that our platform meets the needs and expectations of our partners, gathering feedback and driving necessary improvements.
- • Our technology stack is modern and designed for speed, featuring Node.js, TypeScript, SvelteKit, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your automation efforts will heavily involve mastering and evolving our Playwright frameworks for front-end testing. You will also utilize tools like Postman to rigorously test our APIs, ensuring the integrity and performance of our core platforms.
- • You will be at the forefront of adopting and implementing emerging technologies, including Playwright MCP and Agents, as we integrate these into our real-world feature development and production pipelines.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the technical direction of our testing practices and contribute to the growth of our Manchester hub. You will work closely with world-class engineering leadership, including individuals with backgrounds from top tech companies, in a dynamic, product-led environment.
- • You will not be burdened by legacy systems or outdated code. Instead, you will be building new, robust frameworks for a platform with zero technical debt, allowing you to focus on innovation and quality from day one.
- • As an early member of our team, you will have the opportunity to gain a significant equity stake, sharing in the success and growth of Foundation Healthcare.
- • Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that our "move-fast" culture does not compromise quality. You will be the final arbiter of release readiness, possessing the confidence and authority to "put your foot down" when a product is not yet ready for primetime.
- • This role is for a hands-on leader who understands the importance of both strategic vision and meticulous execution. You will balance the demands of managing a team with the necessity of diving deep into the technical aspects of testing, ensuring a comprehensive and effective QA strategy.
- • Ultimately, you will be a key player in our mission to deliver high-quality, AI-driven healthcare solutions, directly impacting the efficiency of providers and the well-being of patients.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience in QA/Software testing, with a proven background in Senior, Lead, or Managerial roles.
- • Proficiency in Playwright for automated front-end testing and Postman for API testing.
- • An AI-Native Mindset: Demonstrated experience using AI tools to enhance workflows or prior experience testing AI-powered products.
- • Expertise in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), with a track record of owning end-to-end testing and coordinating with external clients.
- • Hybrid Leadership Style: Ability to strategically decide when to automate, when to perform manual testing, and how to effectively scale a QA team while maintaining high quality standards.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Significant equity stake in an early-stage, high-growth company.
- • Opportunity to lead and shape the QA function for an AI-native healthcare platform.
- • Collaborative work environment with world-class engineering leadership (ex-Google/DeepMind).
- • Modern tech stack with no legacy debt, allowing for innovation and building from scratch.
- • High degree of autonomy and agency in influencing technical direction and testing practices.
- • Hybrid work model with an office in Manchester City Centre, encouraging in-person collaboration when beneficial.
