- • As a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer for the Workflow Engine team at Paragon, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the robustness, reliability, and correctness of a critical component of our integration infrastructure. The Workflow Engine empowers our customers to construct, execute, and manage intricate workflows that orchestrate complex interactions between various systems. This role is fundamental to maintaining the high standards of quality that our fast-growing SaaS clients depend on for their mission-critical integrations, allowing them to focus on their core product offerings rather than the complexities of integration management.
- • In this dynamic position, your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of quality assurance activities. You will be instrumental in building and meticulously maintaining automated test coverage for the Workflow Engine, with a primary focus on utilizing Playwright for end-to-end validation. A significant part of your role will involve validating critical product flows from inception to completion, encompassing the entire lifecycle from workflow creation and configuration, through its execution, and into the debugging process. Beyond the user interface, you will extend your testing expertise to backend services, APIs, webhooks, and the intricacies of asynchronous workflow behavior, ensuring a comprehensive quality assessment. You will be tasked with designing and implementing test coverage for highly complex scenarios, including but not limited to, retry mechanisms, intricate branching logic, handling partial failures gracefully, mitigating race conditions, managing scheduled executions, and validating the behavior of long-running processes. Furthermore, you will actively collaborate with engineers and product managers, contributing to the enhancement of testability within the product, clarifying acceptance criteria to ensure shared understanding, and proactively identifying and addressing issues early in the development cycle. A key objective will be to elevate the quality of our Continuous Integration (CI) signal by systematically reducing test flakiness, bolstering reliability, and implementing strategies that make test failures more transparent and easier to diagnose. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining reusable components such as fixtures, test data setup routines, helper functions, and custom tooling designed to streamline the automation development and maintenance process. A crucial aspect of your role will involve conducting in-depth investigations into product issues and test failures to pinpoint their root causes and implement measures to prevent their recurrence. Ultimately, you will contribute significantly to defining and refining the quality strategy for one of the most intricate and vital parts of the Paragon platform.
- • The Workflow Engine team at Paragon is at the forefront of developing sophisticated solutions that enable our customers to automate and manage complex business processes. This team operates at the intersection of user experience, robust backend systems, intricate integrations, and asynchronous execution patterns. The quality of the Workflow Engine directly impacts the customer's ability to build reliable and scalable integrations, making this team's work essential to Paragon's overall success and reputation. We foster a collaborative environment where engineers and QA professionals work hand-in-hand to deliver exceptional products.
- • In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to deepen your expertise in testing complex, stateful systems and asynchronous architectures. You will gain invaluable experience in building scalable automation frameworks using cutting-edge tools like Playwright, and you will develop a profound understanding of integration patterns, API testing, and backend service validation. By becoming a key quality owner, you will influence the development process, help engineers build with greater confidence, and contribute directly to the product's success. Success in this role means becoming a trusted expert in the Workflow Engine's quality, driving improvements in test coverage, reliability, and the overall confidence in our releases, ultimately enabling Paragon to ship faster and more securely.
