ďż˝ Description
- • Join ION Group’s global Quality Assurance team and become the guardian of software excellence for 4,800+ customers worldwide. As our Quality Assurance Engineer based in Pisa or Milan, you will own the end-to-end testing lifecycle for mission-critical trading and workflow automation products used by central banks, governments, and Fortune 500 institutions.
- • Design, author, and maintain detailed test cases and test scripts that validate functional, performance, and security requirements across complex financial modules. Your test artefacts will serve as the single source of truth for both manual and automated validation, ensuring every release meets the highest standards of reliability and regulatory compliance.
- • Execute comprehensive test suites—manual, automated, and hybrid—covering unit, integration, system, regression, and user-acceptance testing. You will run thousands of test iterations, analyse outcomes, and rapidly triage defects to guarantee zero-severity bugs reach production environments that handle billions in daily transactions.
- • Partner with product owners, business analysts, and software engineers during requirements reviews and design specification sessions. Your early involvement will shape testability, influence architecture decisions, and embed quality gates that reduce defect leakage by up to 40 %.
- • Develop and enhance automated test frameworks in C/C++ and/or Java, driving continuous integration pipelines that execute nightly regression packs. Your code will shorten release cycles from weeks to days while maintaining 99.9 % uptime for critical trading platforms.
- • Perform root-cause analysis on complex, multi-threaded distributed systems. You will correlate logs, trace files, and performance metrics to pinpoint elusive defects, then document reproducible steps and propose robust fixes that prevent recurrence.
- • Maintain meticulous defect records in JIRA or similar tools, tagging severity, priority, and customer impact. You will generate clear, data-driven reports for stakeholders, enabling informed go/no-go decisions for every release.
- • Champion security and cybersecurity best practices throughout the SDLC. You will validate encryption standards, access controls, and threat-model mitigations to ensure compliance with global financial regulations such as GDPR, MIFID II, and SOC 2.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes by adopting Agile ceremonies, refining Definition of Done, and mentoring junior testers. Your insights will help mature a culture where quality is everyone’s responsibility.
- • Collaborate across ION’s 60 global offices, leveraging diverse perspectives to solve high-stakes challenges. Whether debugging latency issues in Milan or validating new asset classes in Pisa, your work will directly impact market stability and client trust.
