📋 Description

• Architect and deliver production-grade AI features that supercharge the daily workflows of millions of creatives on Envato’s platform. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle—from ideation and rapid prototyping to A/B testing, deployment, and post-launch optimisation—ensuring every model, prompt, or pipeline you ship measurably improves customer satisfaction and revenue.
• Reimagine internal tooling and developer experience through AI. Build intelligent code-review bots, auto-documentation generators, and self-healing CI/CD pipelines that cut deployment times and free engineers to focus on higher-value work. Your solutions will become the force-multiplier that lets Envato ship faster, safer, and with greater confidence.
• Design robust context-engineering systems that ground large language and multimodal models in Envato’s rich creative asset metadata. You’ll craft retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, dynamic prompt templates, memory stores, and ranking layers so that every AI interaction feels native, relevant, and trustworthy to users worldwide.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, UX designers, data scientists, content curators, and marketing to translate fuzzy customer pain points into crisp AI product specs. You’ll run design sprints, lead technical spikes, and present findings to executives, ensuring AI initiatives align with Envato’s strategic roadmap and community values.
• Champion a culture of experimentation and continuous learning. Run weekly “AI demo days,” publish internal tech notes, and curate a living knowledge base of emerging research, tooling, and regulatory trends. Your evangelism will upskill the entire engineering org and position Envato as a thought leader in ethical, creative-focused AI.
• Establish observability, evaluation, and governance frameworks that make AI systems transparent, fair, and maintainable. You’ll define success metrics (latency, accuracy, user delight), implement offline and online evaluation suites, and partner with legal & privacy teams to ensure compliance with global data regulations.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pair programming, architecture reviews, and career-path guidance. You’ll help shape hiring rubrics, interview loops, and onboarding curricula so that Envato’s AI capability scales sustainably as the company grows.
• Stay hands-on with code—Python, TypeScript, Go, or whatever the task demands—while also zooming out to design scalable, cost-efficient cloud architectures on AWS or GCP. You’ll balance cutting-edge research with pragmatic engineering trade-offs, always keeping customer impact and business value front-of-mind.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years shipping production AI/ML features, including hands-on experience with LLMs, multimodal models, embeddings, and generative tooling
• Proven ability to design and maintain reliable RAG systems, prompt pipelines, and memory state management using frameworks like LangChain or similar
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: proficiency in Python or TypeScript, cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, and automated testing
• Demonstrated success collaborating across product, design, and data teams to translate ambiguous requirements into measurable AI outcomes
• Nice-to-have: contributions to open-source AI projects, publications at top-tier conferences, or experience in creative or content-driven industries
