📋 Description

• Serve as the primary legal advisor to executive leadership on healthcare regulations, compliance, employment law, and operational matters across all markets.
• Lead the development and evolution of Nest Health’s comprehensive legal and compliance strategy to support rapid national scaling.
• Partner directly with operations, product, clinical, and growth teams to enable compliant innovation in in-home, virtual, and community-based care delivery.
• Oversee and negotiate all payer contracts, vendor agreements, strategic partnerships, and commercial arrangements essential to business expansion.
• Direct HIPAA compliance, patient privacy protocols, Medicare/Medicaid adherence, telehealth regulations, and risk management frameworks across state lines.
• Monitor, analyze, and advise leadership on evolving Medicaid policies and state-specific regulatory landscapes to inform market entry and operational strategy.
• Design, implement, and scale legal processes, policies, and compliance programs that align with the company’s fast-paced growth trajectory and value-based care model.
• Manage all litigation, audits, investigations, and external counsel relationships, ensuring cost-effective and strategically aligned legal outcomes.
• Act as a bridge between legal requirements and business objectives, translating complex regulatory issues into actionable, practical business solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless communication of legal and compliance updates across departments to maintain operational continuity and regulatory alignment.
• Proactively identify legal and compliance risks in emerging care models and propose innovative, scalable solutions that reduce exposure without stifling innovation.
• Build and lead a culture of compliance and ethical decision-making throughout the organization, embedding legal awareness into daily operations.
• Represent Nest Health in interactions with state and federal regulators, payers, and external stakeholders with authority and strategic clarity.
• Advise on employment law matters including workforce structure, contractor classifications, HR policies, and workforce expansion in multiple states.
• Drive the integration of legal safeguards into new product features, clinical workflows, and digital health technologies while maintaining patient safety and regulatory integrity.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state healthcare laws, value-based care frameworks, and digital health regulatory trends to guide strategic planning.

🎯 Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school and active State Bar membership in at least one U.S. state
• 10+ years of hands-on healthcare legal experience, preferably within high-growth or startup environments
• Deep expertise in healthcare regulations including HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, telehealth, and value-based care models
• Proven experience managing payer contracting, vendor agreements, and commercial negotiations in a regulated healthcare setting
• Strong executive presence and ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable business guidance
• Experience supporting scaling organizations through multi-state market expansion and regulatory complexity
