📋 Description

• As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Trading 212 UK Ltd., you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and usability of financial technology products used by over 4.5 million clients managing more than €30 billion in assets. Your work directly contributes to building trust in the platform by safeguarding the quality of software that enables individuals to grow their wealth through seamless trading and investing experiences.
• You will take full ownership of quality-related tasks, including estimating effort, executing test plans, and driving closure initiatives, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to maintain high velocity without compromising on standards.
• Day to day, you will actively participate in design and requirements reviews to advocate for testability and usability early in the development lifecycle, ensuring that features are built with quality in mind from the outset.
• You will design, develop, and execute both manual and automated test cases across multiple layers of the system, including database, integration, functional, and UI/UX testing, to validate the correctness and robustness of software releases.
• By analysing test results and identifying trends or defects, you will recommend actionable improvements to testing processes, tools, and practices, helping to elevate the overall quality culture within the team.
• You will ensure all testing activities adhere to company-defined standards and best practices, maintaining consistency and traceability in test documentation, defect reporting, and test execution.
• Working within compact, autonomous agile teams, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment characterized by short release cycles, where independence, accountability, and technical excellence are valued and rewarded.
• You will contribute to a culture of continuous learning by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and staying current with evolving QA methodologies and tools, thereby growing your expertise in financial software quality assurance.

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies (e.g., black-box, white-box, regression, exploratory) and industry best practices
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, TypeScript, or Java, with the ability to write, maintain, and debug automated test scripts
• Advanced understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS), including SQL querying, schema validation, and data integrity testing
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to diagnose complex issues and recommend effective solutions
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with developers, product owners, and stakeholders
