  • • Join Motorola Solutions as a Quality Engineer and become an integral part of our mission to ensure our cutting-edge products and services consistently meet the highest quality benchmarks. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing and executing comprehensive test plans, meticulously validating software releases, and constructing robust automation test suites that uphold the reliability and excellence of our expansive platform.
  • • You will operate within a remote-first environment, offering flexibility and work-life balance, with occasional travel to SĂŁo Paulo for essential team events and collaborative sessions. Your primary focus will be on fostering seamless collaboration with our dedicated Engineering and Product teams, embedding quality assurance seamlessly throughout the entire software development lifecycle. This position presents a unique opportunity to significantly influence and shape our testing methodologies, champion automation initiatives, and directly contribute to the superior quality of products utilized by organizations across the globe.
  • • Your responsibilities will encompass the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of sophisticated automation test suites, leveraging Playwright for both UI and API testing. You will craft and maintain clear, concise Cucumber feature files utilizing Gherkin syntax, ensuring they serve as living documentation for the team. A key aspect of this role involves enhancing and evolving our existing test automation frameworks to achieve greater coverage, improved reliability, and faster execution speeds, ultimately contributing to a more efficient development process.
  • • You will be responsible for integrating automated tests seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines, specifically utilizing GitHub Actions, to enable continuous quality validation and rapid feedback loops. Furthermore, you will embrace and implement modern engineering practices, including the strategic use of AI-assisted testing tools to accelerate test creation, streamline maintenance efforts, and expedite debugging processes. Integrating observability tools will be crucial for gaining deep insights from test execution, allowing for proactive issue identification and resolution.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve implementing shift-left security practices, integrating SAST/DAST tools directly into our CI/CD pipelines to identify and address vulnerabilities early in the development cycle. You will also be tasked with building and maintaining automated quality gates within our modern CI/CD workflows, ensuring that only high-quality code progresses through the development stages.
  • • You will play a key role in implementing and executing performance testing strategies, targeting both UI and API layers to ensure our applications are scalable and responsive under various load conditions. Conducting thorough security testing and vulnerability assessments, adhering to a shift-left approach, will be paramount to safeguarding our products. Establishing non-functional testing baselines and diligently monitoring for regressions will ensure sustained performance and security.
  • • Developing comprehensive test strategies in close collaboration with Engineering and Product stakeholders will be a core responsibility. You will execute detailed test plans for major application integrations and critical product releases, ensuring thorough validation before deployment. Performing smoke testing and analyzing release candidates for potential quality risks will be essential to mitigate deployment issues.
  • • You will proactively identify functional and non-functional risks during the earliest phases of the release process, enabling timely intervention. Contributing to and maintaining the Quality Knowledge Base will ensure consistent best practices and shared learning across the team. Ensuring high-quality outcomes in integrated environments through rigorous and comprehensive testing will be a continuous objective.
  • • You will actively support Engineering teams by providing guidance on writing testable code and promoting the adoption of Agile testing methodologies. Coordinating effectively with Learning & Development, Support teams, and other stakeholders on the potential impacts of releases will ensure smooth transitions and informed decision-making. Participating actively in sprint planning sessions and offering quality-focused feedback on upcoming deliverables will be vital for aligning team efforts and maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • • Your work will directly involve building and maintaining Playwright automation test suites across diverse web and mobile platforms, writing Cucumber feature files that serve as living documentation, and implementing AI-assisted testing workflows to boost efficiency. You will integrate observability tools with test execution for enhanced insights, contribute to performance testing initiatives, and integrate shift-left security testing within CI/CD pipelines. Developing test strategies for complex software releases and contributing to quality metrics and reporting for continuous improvement will also be key aspects of your role.
