📋 Description

• As a Quilting Pattern Writer at Foxelli Group, you will play a key role in shaping the creative content for Mrs Quilty, a beloved subscription box brand that delivers joy and craftsmanship to quilting enthusiasts worldwide. Your patterns will empower makers of all skill levels to create beautiful quilts with confidence, directly contributing to customer satisfaction, brand loyalty, and the growth of a community-centered e-commerce business.
• You will design original, aesthetically pleasing quilting projects tailored to the Mrs Quilty format, ensuring each pattern is both innovative and accessible. This includes developing step-by-step instructions for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels, complete with materials lists, finished dimensions, cutting guides, diagrams, assembly directions, and practical tips to support successful execution.
• You will collaborate closely with Foxelli’s internal team to gather feedback, participate in pattern testing, and refine designs for clarity and usability, ensuring every pattern meets high standards before release. Your work will be delivered independently and on schedule, with clean, professional formatting that requires minimal oversight.

• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in pattern design and technical writing while expanding your portfolio with published, commercially used designs. You’ll gain experience working within a fast-moving e-commerce brand, learn to balance creativity with usability, and refine your ability to teach complex skills through clear, engaging written instruction—skills that are transferable across craft, education, and content industries.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience creating original quilting patterns, with a strong understanding of quilting terminology and techniques such as HST (Half-Square Triangles), Flying Geese, SNF (Square-in-a-Square), and other patchwork methods.
• Ability to write clear, concise, and beginner-friendly step-by-step instructions that guide quilters through each stage of a project, including materials lists, cutting guides, diagrams, and helpful tips.
• Reliability, organization, and proactive communication—able to manage deadlines independently and deliver polished, well-formatted work without requiring close supervision.
• Familiarity with pattern layout and design tools is a bonus; proficiency in Adobe InDesign or similar illustration/diagramming software is preferred but not required.
• Availability for at least 5 hours of overlap with Eastern European Time (EET, UTC+2/UTC+3) to ensure effective collaboration with the Foxelli team.
