📋 Description

  • • As a Rare Disease Business Manager (RDBM) at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, you will be at the forefront of driving sales and expanding territory growth for a groundbreaking new therapeutic option targeting narcolepsy type 1, a rare neurological sleep disorder.
  • • This pivotal role demands exceptional execution of sales strategies and tactics, requiring close collaboration with your Regional Business Leader and various cross-functional, customer-facing teams to ensure healthcare providers (HCPs) are thoroughly educated on the product and that appropriate patients gain access to this novel treatment, pending federal agency approval.
  • • Reporting directly to a Regional Business Leader, you will be instrumental in a new product introduction within a novel therapeutic area for Takeda, where your ability to gather critical market insights and build Takeda's reputation will be paramount to success.
  • • Your primary focus will be on establishing and nurturing impactful relationships with targeted HCPs and key accounts within your assigned geographic territory, laying the groundwork for future commercial success.
  • • Post-regulatory approval, you will play a crucial role in generating demand for this new therapeutic option by dedicating your efforts to educating and informing healthcare professionals. This involves providing comprehensive clinical information, in-depth knowledge of the orexin system, and a thorough understanding of narcolepsy type 1.
  • • Success in this role hinges on a strong results-oriented approach, demonstrating a consistent sense of urgency to achieve high performance and deliver a significant sales effort, which is essential for the successful introduction of a rare disease product.
  • • You will be expected to possess and consistently deliver exceptional disease state and product knowledge, coupled with advanced selling skills, to effectively engage with HCPs, support product education, and drive demand.
  • • A key responsibility will be the strategic execution of sales and marketing plans. Following approval, you will implement these plans, leveraging your strong selling skills and utilizing approved, on-label materials to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  • • You will manage all business-related activities within your assigned geographic territory, with a clear focus on achieving sales targets and advancing the diagnosis and treatment of narcolepsy type 1 (NT1).
  • • Engaging with specialty customers will be a core function, involving building robust relationships with and educating healthcare professionals, including sleep specialists, neurologists, pulmonologists, sleep centers, and their associated clinic staff, on the disease state and approved Takeda orexin therapies.
  • • Strategic analysis and territory planning are critical. You will be responsible for analyzing local, regional, and national business trends, applying data-driven insights to assess business opportunities and define strategic priorities.
  • • You will leverage market insights to tailor regional and local business strategies effectively to evolving market trends and specific customer needs.
  • • Strong communication skills are indispensable for engaging in meaningful discussions with specialty HCPs and accounts regarding this rare disease therapy.
  • • You will utilize the CRM system diligently to document account profiles, develop strategic pre-call plans, and accurately record post-call activities, ensuring comprehensive record-keeping and follow-through.
  • • Financial responsibility includes managing your territory budget in strict adherence to all Takeda compliance policies and guidelines.
  • • Cross-functional collaboration is essential. You will partner closely with internal teams such as Patient Access, Market Access, and Marketing to ensure alignment on strategies and tactics that support customer needs and business outcomes.
  • • You will collaborate with Sales and Marketing leadership, providing valuable feedback to further refine sales tactics and enhance performance.
  • • Fostering a collaborative culture of accountability and engagement with cross-functional team members will be key to enhancing overall performance and impact.
  • • Upholding Takeda’s patient-first values and an unwavering commitment to high standards of customer satisfaction is expected.
  • • You must adhere strictly to all Takeda compliance policies, guidelines, training, and relevant laws and regulations, demonstrating leadership and integrity by seeking clarification on any compliance matters.
  • • This role requires adaptability to changing market conditions and evolving customer needs, alongside demonstrated learning agility to successfully develop and compliantly apply clinical expertise and selling skills.
  • • You will be responsible for managing a territory budget compliantly and efficiently, ensuring all expenditures align with Takeda's financial and ethical standards.
  • • The role involves continuous learning and development, staying abreast of the latest clinical research, market dynamics, and Takeda's product portfolio to maintain a competitive edge.
  • • You will contribute to Takeda's mission of delivering life-changing therapies by ensuring that eligible patients have access to and benefit from our innovative treatments.
  • • This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in a specialized therapeutic area, contributing to both patient well-being and Takeda's commercial success.
  • • You will be a key player in shaping the market landscape for narcolepsy type 1 treatment, driving awareness, education, and adoption of a new standard of care.
  • • The virtual nature of the role requires strong self-discipline, time management, and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining high levels of productivity and engagement.
  • • You will be expected to represent Takeda professionally at all times, embodying the company's values and commitment to excellence in every interaction.
  • • This role is critical in bridging the gap between Takeda's innovative treatments and the healthcare professionals who can deliver them to patients in need.
