- • The Recruiter role at the Centre for Effective Altruism (CEA) is an individual contributor position responsible for owning full-cycle hiring rounds across the organization, directly supporting CEA’s mission to grow and sustain a global community applying effective altruism principles to solve pressing global challenges.
- • Day to day, the Recruiter will partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, write compelling job descriptions, source and screen candidates, conduct interviews, coordinate schedules, manage reference checks and offer processes, maintain candidate pipeline data, and ensure a high-quality candidate experience aligned with CEA’s values.
- • CEA is a remote-first, mission-driven organization stewarding the effective altruism movement, focused on evidence-based action to address global poverty, animal suffering, and existential risks, with recent growth in program participation and grantmaking capacity following a merger with EA Funds.
- • The Recruiter will join a small, professionalized recruiting team reporting to the Recruiting Manager, collaborating with hiring managers across departments, and will have the opportunity to develop end-to-end recruitment ownership, contribute to process improvement initiatives, and potentially specialize in areas like employer brand or sourcing over time.

- • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, to engage candidates and hiring managers clearly and professionally.
- • Sound judgment under pressure and uncertainty, including comfort making trade-offs with incomplete information and tight timelines.
- • High discretion and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive information.
- • Motivation by effective altruism principles and familiarity with EA ideas.
- • Willingness to travel 4–6 times per year internationally for team retreats and conferences.

- • Total compensation package of $90,026 (US) or £54,159 (UK), including base salary and 10% retirement contribution.
