  • • Design and document end-to-end recruiting processes across the full hiring lifecycle — from role kick-off to offer acceptance — ensuring consistency, scalability, and adoption across the talent team.
  • • Build the recruiting data foundation by defining core metrics including time-to-fill, offer acceptance rate, pipeline conversion, and source effectiveness; create and maintain real-time dashboards that provide visibility into hiring health for recruiters, people leadership, and business stakeholders.
  • • Drive interviewer and hiring manager enablement by developing training materials, calibration guides, and onboarding resources to improve the quality and consistency of interviews across all functions.
  • • Lead high-priority recruiting programs and initiatives end-to-end, including candidate experience enhancements, referral program optimization, recruiting branding efforts, and DEI initiatives — from scoping and execution to measurement and iteration.
  • • Evaluate, select, and implement new recruiting technology tools such as AI-powered sourcing platforms and interview intelligence systems, providing thoughtful recommendations based on Baseten’s needs and growth stage.
  • • Partner cross-functionally with People, Finance, and BizTech teams to ensure seamless data flow between recruiting systems and downstream platforms, maintain accurate headcount plans, and comply with legal and operational requirements.
  • • Operate as an ATS power user with deep, hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing Ashby (strongly preferred) without dependency on engineering support.
  • • Translate ambiguous or inefficient workflows into clear, documented processes that standardize hiring practices and eliminate redundancies.
  • • Use data fluency to write queries, build reports, and communicate actionable insights — distinguishing between vanity metrics and those that directly impact hiring outcomes.
  • • Lead cross-functional initiatives with strong project management skills, keeping stakeholders aligned and delivering clear updates to leadership on progress, risks, and results.
  • • Build recruiting operations programs from scratch at high-growth companies, demonstrating experience in creating systems where none existed before, not just maintaining existing ones.
  • • Support both technical and go-to-market (GTM) hiring needs, ensuring tailored processes for diverse roles while maintaining operational cohesion.
  • • Maintain a builder mindset, thriving in ambiguity and proactively identifying process gaps, data blind spots, and workflow inefficiencies that others overlook.
  • • Ensure all recruiting operations align with Baseten’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and comply with applicable local laws such as the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Operationally rigorous with a systems-thinking approach to recruiting, identifying inefficiencies and building scalable processes
  • • Deep hands-on experience with modern recruiting platforms, particularly Ashby (strongly preferred), including configuration and troubleshooting without engineering support
  • • Data fluent: capable of writing queries, building reports, and using metrics like time-to-fill and offer acceptance rate to drive decision-making
  • • Strong communicator and project manager able to document processes, lead cross-functional initiatives, and update leadership clearly and consistently
  • • 4+ years in recruiting operations, talent operations, or a closely related function, ideally at a high-growth startup or tech company
  • • Experience building recruiting operations programs from scratch, not just maintaining existing systems
