- • As a Registered Dietitian at 9amHealth, you will play a pivotal role in delivering specialized cardiometabolic care to patients managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving patient outcomes through personalized nutrition plans, education, and ongoing support, aligning with the company’s mission to create a new standard of whole-body, virtual care.
- • You will provide comprehensive diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and weight loss care, education, and support to patients via chat, phone, and video calls, following established internal protocols to ensure consistency, safety, and effectiveness in every interaction.
- • You will create thorough, protocol-aligned consults for 9amHealth physicians, synthesizing patient data, dietary assessments, and clinical observations to inform medication adjustments and holistic care plans.
- • You will collaborate closely with Patient Care Advocates to ensure seamless coordination of care, addressing barriers to adherence and supporting patients in achieving their health goals through integrated, team-based support.
- • You will maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR), leveraging your experience with EMR systems to support clinical decision-making and continuity of care across the virtual care team.
- • You will apply strong empathy and patient-centered communication skills to build trust, actively listen to patient concerns, and tailor education and recommendations to individual lifestyles, cultural backgrounds, and readiness for change.
- • You will work one of three defined shifts (10:00am–6:30pm PT Mon–Fri, 8:30am–5:00pm PT Tue–Sat, or 10:00am–6:30pm PT Sun–Thu), ensuring reliable access to care while maintaining work-life balance in a fully remote or hybrid environment.
- • You will join a mission-driven, innovative startup founded by the team behind mySugr (acquired by Roche), backed by leading investors including Cigna Ventures, 7Wire Ventures, and Founders Fund, and committed to advancing equitable, accessible cardiometabolic care.
- • You will be part of a small, agile, and collaborative team spread across San Diego, California, and Vienna, Austria, where your contributions will directly shape clinical workflows, patient education materials, and the evolution of our virtual care model.

🎯 Requirements
- • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
- • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or Board Certified-Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) certification, or eligibility for certification
- • Proven experience in medication adjustment and routine use of an electronic medical record (EMR) system
- • Demonstrated expertise in patient-centered communication, empathy, and motivational interviewing techniques
- • A dedicated, quiet, and distraction-free workspace suitable for telehealth delivery
