• • Binance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regulatory Counsel to join our dynamic legal team, focusing on operations within Latin America. This pivotal role will be instrumental in navigating the complex and evolving regulatory landscape of the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry across this key region.
• • As Regulatory Counsel, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and strategic guidance on a wide range of regulatory matters impacting Binance's operations in Latin America. This includes staying abreast of all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to digital assets, financial services, anti-money laundering (AML), know your customer (KYC), data privacy, and consumer protection in each jurisdiction within the region.
• • Your primary focus will be on ensuring Binance's compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, proactively identifying potential risks, and developing robust strategies to mitigate them. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including business development, product, compliance, and operations teams, to ensure that new products, services, and business initiatives are designed and implemented in a manner that is compliant with local regulations.
• • A significant aspect of this role involves engaging with regulatory bodies, government authorities, and industry associations across Latin America. You will represent Binance in discussions, consultations, and negotiations with these entities, building and maintaining strong relationships to foster a constructive dialogue and advocate for favorable regulatory outcomes.
• • You will also be responsible for developing and implementing regulatory policies, procedures, and training programs for relevant teams within the organization. This includes conducting legal research, drafting legal opinions, and preparing regulatory filings and submissions.
• • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, coupled with extensive experience in financial services regulation, particularly within Latin America. You will need to be adept at interpreting complex legal and regulatory texts, applying them to novel business models, and communicating intricate legal concepts clearly and concisely to both legal and non-legal audiences.
