- • Agilent Technologies is seeking a Remote Engineer to provide expert technical support for microplate instruments used in cell analysis, playing a critical role in enabling life science researchers and diagnostic laboratories worldwide to obtain reliable data that advances scientific discovery and improves human health.
- • This role ensures customers receive timely, accurate, and compassionate support for complex instrumentation, directly impacting research productivity, data integrity, and customer satisfaction across global laboratories.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include investigating and resolving technical inquiries related to microplate reader hardware, software, and applications via phone, email, live webchat, and remote support tools; documenting all interactions in the company’s ticketing system; following up on and closing support cases in accordance with service level agreements; adhering to internal complaint handling and quality processes; collaborating with field service and repair center teams to escalate or resolve complex issues; gathering and relaying customer feedback to product development, marketing, and sales teams to inform product improvements; contributing to the continuous enhancement of technical support processes and customer satisfaction initiatives; and occasionally traveling to internal training sessions or customer site shadowing opportunities to maintain technical proficiency and service excellence.
- • The engineer will join Agilent’s global Services & Support team, a dedicated group of technical professionals committed to delivering world-class post-sales support for the company’s life science, diagnostic, and applied markets portfolio; this team operates with a customer-centric mindset, leveraging deep scientific and technical expertise to solve real-world laboratory challenges.
- • In this role, the engineer will deepen their expertise in life science instrumentation, particularly in cell-based assay technologies and automation systems; develop advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills; strengthen cross-functional collaboration abilities; gain exposure to global customer workflows and regulatory environments; and position themselves for career growth into senior technical support, applications science, or field service engineering roles within Agilent’s innovative and mission-driven organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in life sciences such as biology, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred)
- • 4+ years of hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation, including microplate readers, cell imagers, liquid handlers, or automation systems
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience managing customer support tickets or CRM systems
- • Previous customer-facing experience in a technical or scientific environment
- • Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and maintain excellent organizational and time management skills
