Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join Think Academy US, the newly launched Ed-Tech arm of NYSE-listed TAL Education Group (NYSE: TAL), and become the driving force behind the math success of thousands of middle-schoolers across the United States. Every week, more than 6 million learners already trust TAL’s platforms—now you can shape the next wave of critical thinkers from the comfort of your own home.
- • Deliver live, synchronous math instruction to 6th–8th grade students who range from enthusiastic beginners to national competition hopefuls. Your virtual classroom will host up to 18 curious minds at a time, ensuring each learner receives the individualized attention that turns confusion into “aha!” moments.
- • Master and teach the full middle-school-to-early-high-school math arc: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus. You will not simply recite formulas—you will ignite curiosity by connecting abstract concepts to real-world puzzles, coding challenges, and math-competition scenarios.
- • Own the entire instructional cycle: study Think Academy’s research-backed curriculum, customize slide decks and interactive applets, rehearse timing and transitions, and arrive in class ready to facilitate—not lecture. Post-class, you will grade problem sets, craft data-driven feedback, and host brief office hours so every student leaves with a clear next step.
- • Build genuine relationships with parents through concise, upbeat progress emails and optional 1:1 check-ins. Your transparent communication turns families into partners who champion student growth and celebrate incremental wins.
- • Experiment with Think Academy’s suite of digital tools—virtual manipulatives, auto-graded quizzes, and AI-generated misconception reports—to personalize learning in real time. Your creative tweaks will be shared across the teaching team, influencing curriculum updates that reach tens of thousands of learners.
- • Commit to a predictable 30–40 hour workweek that respects your life outside the classroom. Core live sessions run on weekday afternoons (3–7 pm ET/PT) and weekends (Sat/Sun 9 am–6 pm ET/PT). The remaining hours are yours to prep, grade, and collaborate asynchronously with a global team of curriculum designers and tech wizards.
- • Model the growth mindset you preach. Participate in weekly virtual PLCs (Professional Learning Communities) where teachers dissect recorded lessons, swap engagement hacks, and dive into the latest cognitive-science research. Your insights directly shape next month’s curriculum sprint.
- • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in every lesson. Adapt examples so students of all backgrounds see themselves as capable mathematicians. Collaborate with our learning-support team to scaffold content for English-language learners and neurodiverse students.
- • Contribute to Think Academy’s culture of “Love and Technology.” Whether you’re beta-testing a new AI tutor or mentoring a rookie teacher, your voice matters. Annual innovation grants let you pitch passion projects—past winners built escape-room math quests and VR geometry labs.
- • Enjoy the freedom of 100 % remote work without the isolation. Join spirited Slack channels (#math-memes, #parent-wins), quarterly virtual game nights, and optional in-person retreats in tech hubs like Seattle and Austin. Your teammates span six time zones, yet everyone rallies around one mission: make math the highlight of a student’s week.
