Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the day-to-day success of Sanford Health’s brand-new, fully-remote Virtual Care radiology program—an initiative that will touch hospitals and clinics across four states and serve thousands of patients every week. You will be the single point of accountability for physician productivity, image-quality standards, and seamless patient flow, all from your home office.
- • Coordinate real-time physician operations for a distributed team of radiologists, residents, and medical students who rely on you to keep schedules, caseloads, and technology running like clockwork. You’ll monitor dashboards, anticipate bottlenecks, and re-allocate resources on the fly so every scan is read and every report is delivered on time.
- • Act as the go-to technical troubleshooter for Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), dictation platforms, image-sharing portals, and the electronic medical record. When a radiologist in Bismarck can’t pull up a CT or a tech in Sioux Falls loses network connectivity, you’re the calm voice that gets them back online—fast.
- • Provide supervisory oversight of image quality, radiation-protection protocols, and patient-flow metrics without ever setting foot in a physical reading room. You’ll audit studies remotely, coach technologists on best practices, and escalate safety issues to ensure every exam meets Sanford’s world-class standards.
- • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with medical staff, administrative leaders, and external partners. Your friendly, cooperative demeanor and crystal-clear communication style will turn you into the “glue” that keeps a multi-state radiology network feeling like one tight-knit team.
- • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing operational data, identifying trends, and presenting actionable recommendations to leadership. Whether it’s standardizing protocols across markets or championing a new AI tool, your insights will shape the future of virtual radiology at Sanford.
- • Manage confidential patient and provider information with the utmost discretion. You’ll navigate HIPAA, institutional policies, and state licensure requirements daily, ensuring every action you take safeguards both data integrity and patient trust.
- • Lead cross-market standardization projects that harmonize workflows, equipment settings, and quality metrics between urban academic centers and rural critical-access hospitals. Your work will make it possible for a patient in a 25-bed community hospital to receive the same caliber of imaging care as one in a 600-bed flagship facility.
- • Provide input on capital-expenditure requests by forecasting equipment needs, calculating ROI, and aligning purchases with strategic growth plans. Your voice will influence multimillion-dollar investments in scanners, software, and cybersecurity tools.
- • Mentor and train new coordinators, technologists, and rotating students through virtual huddles, recorded demos, and one-on-one coaching sessions. Your leadership will expand Sanford’s internal talent pipeline and strengthen the culture of continuous learning.
- • Stay ahead of the curve through a self-directed professional-development plan that includes ARRT continuing-education credits, vendor certifications, and attendance at national virtual conferences. Sanford will fund your growth; you choose the path that keeps your skills razor-sharp.
- • Embrace the flexibility of a 100 % remote role while remaining accountable to Central Time coverage expectations. You’ll design your own ergonomic workspace, leverage cutting-edge collaboration tools, and still have the autonomy to step away for a midday walk or school pickup—because results matter more than seat time.
