  • • Process weekly payrolls for a workforce of 1,000+ employees across multiple Canadian provinces, ensuring accurate and timely payment cycles.
  • • Balance and reconcile imported payroll data against Audit Logs to detect and prevent duplications or discrepancies.
  • • Verify payroll inputs for compliance with internal controls, including proper calculation of overtime, vacation payouts, and statutory deductions.
  • • Review audit reports and investigate high overtime hours or irregular payroll patterns, escalating issues to managers for clarification or correction.
  • • Generate and distribute mandatory payroll outputs such as Records of Employment (ROEs) and Notices of Separation in compliance with Canadian regulations.
  • • Respond promptly and accurately to payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and HR teams across Ryder’s Canadian operations.
  • • Support backup for other payroll cycles and assist with special projects as business needs arise.
  • • Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee payroll and personal data in accordance with company policy and privacy laws.
  • • Ensure adherence to Ryder’s internal audit processes and payroll control procedures at all stages of the payroll cycle.
  • • Utilize MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) at an intermediate level to manage payroll data, generate reports, and communicate effectively.
  • • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure, with excellent follow-up practices to resolve outstanding items.
  • • Work independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment, adapting to shifting priorities and ambiguous situations.
  • • Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal English; French proficiency is preferred for cross-provincial coordination.
  • • Maintain professional relationships across all organizational levels while upholding Ryder’s culture of collaboration and integrity.
  • • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall efficiency and compliance of the payroll function.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Must be based in Canada with legal authorization to work
  • • Minimum one (1) year of payroll processing experience
  • • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll practices at an intermediate level
  • • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) at an intermediate level
  • • High School diploma or GED required
  • • Experience supporting payroll for 1,000+ employees preferred

  • • Salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 based on experience
  • • Full-time temporary assignment with 3-month duration
  • • Remote work arrangement with flexible scheduling (Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
