- • Analyze and produce financial and operational reports for a law firm, focusing on time tracking, revenue, billing, collections, and overall financial performance.
- • Optimize existing reporting processes by identifying inefficiencies, eliminating redundancies, and implementing streamlined workflows to improve accuracy and timeliness.
- • Modernize reporting systems by transitioning from manual or outdated methods to automated, scalable solutions that enhance data reliability and accessibility.
- • Collaborate with finance, operations, and practice management teams to understand reporting needs and align data outputs with strategic firm objectives.
- • Translate complex legal financial data into clear, actionable insights for leadership, enabling informed decision-making on resource allocation, pricing, and profitability.
- • Maintain and update financial data models, dashboards, and reporting templates to ensure consistency across departments and reporting periods.
- • Ensure compliance with law firm accounting standards and internal controls through rigorous data validation and audit-ready documentation.
- • Identify trends and anomalies in billing and collections data, proactively flagging potential revenue leakage or operational bottlenecks.
- • Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting-related inquiries from partners, finance staff, and operational leaders.
- • Work closely with legal practice groups to tailor reporting formats to specific departmental needs while maintaining firm-wide data integrity.
- • Evaluate and recommend new tools or technologies to enhance reporting capabilities, including integration with existing legal practice management systems.
- • Conduct regular reviews of report outputs to ensure alignment with evolving firm metrics and regulatory expectations.
- • Document all reporting procedures, data sources, and transformation logic to enable knowledge transfer and continuity.
- • Support ad-hoc analytical requests from senior leadership with timely, well-structured data analysis and visualizations.
- • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial and client billing information in accordance with law firm policies.
- • Stay current with industry best practices in legal financial reporting and apply insights to continuously improve reporting standards.
- • Train junior staff and non-technical users on how to interpret and utilize reporting outputs effectively.
- • Partner with IT and systems teams to ensure seamless data flow between billing platforms, timekeeping systems, and reporting dashboards.
- • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports with precision and on strict deadlines.
- • Proactively identify opportunities to reduce manual effort in reporting through automation, scripting, or system enhancements.
