📋 Description

• Revenue Accountant role at Clay Labs Inc., a high-growth AI marketing company in hypergrowth mode, where you will build financial infrastructure from the ground up and support scalable revenue operations.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include executing end-to-end billing operations (invoice generation, collections, cash application, AR management), supporting the order-to-cash cycle, reconciling customer data across Stripe, CPQ, and GL systems, maintaining billing documentation, handling customer inquiries via AR inbox, and partnering with Sales, CS, and Engineering to resolve discrepancies and improve data quality.
• You will also support revenue recognition under ASC 606, prepare deferred and unbilled revenue schedules, execute month-end close activities (journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis), assist with audit readiness for the company’s first-year financial audit, and contribute to revenue systems implementations and process design.

• In this role, you will gain deep expertise in SaaS revenue accounting, automation of financial workflows using AI and modern tooling, audit preparation, and cross-functional financial leadership in a fast-scaling startup environment.

🎯 Requirements

• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to both billing operations and revenue accounting
• Active CPA required
• Solid knowledge of ASC 606 and US GAAP revenue principles, including consumption-based revenue models
• Hands-on experience with billing and payment systems (Stripe experience strongly preferred)
• Data fluency — comfortable working with large datasets; SQL skills are a strong plus
• Excellent written communication skills — ability to explain billing discrepancies clearly to customers and auditors
