- • Provide remote patient management for inpatients in a virtual nursing capacity, ensuring continuity of care without physical bedside presence.
- • Collaborate with providers, patients, and families to deliver patient- and family-centered care while maintaining patient anonymity and safety in a virtual environment.
- • Monitor patient conditions remotely using clinical technology and communication systems to assess needs, identify changes, and initiate appropriate interventions.
- • Coordinate care with bedside staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to support timely and effective clinical decision-making.
- • Adhere to the Ohio Nurse Practice Code and Michigan nursing regulations, ensuring all actions align with state-specific legal and ethical standards.
- • Complete required continuing education hours annually: 24 contact hours in Ohio (including 1 hour on Chapter 4723 of the Ohio Nurse Practice Code) and 25 contact hours in Michigan (including 2 hours on pain and pain symptom management).
- • Maintain current state licensure as a Registered Nurse in both Ohio and Michigan to legally practice in both jurisdictions.
- • Perform all duties in alignment with a culture of respect, open communication, and teamwork, promoting leadership in a virtual care setting.
- • Ensure compliance with current CPR certification and any additional specialty certifications required by department or unit protocols.
- • Utilize electronic health records and virtual monitoring tools to document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in real time.
- • Respond to alerts and notifications from remote monitoring systems to prioritize patient care needs and escalate concerns as necessary.
- • Support hospital-wide initiatives focused on improving clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency through virtual nursing models.
- • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in all virtual interactions with patients and team members.
- • Participate in ongoing training and orientation to remain proficient in virtual nursing technologies and evolving care protocols.
- • Work scheduled day shifts totaling 24 hours per week in a part-time capacity at Toledo Hospital’s Virtual Nursing department.
- • Function independently within scope of practice while remaining connected to clinical teams for consultation and support.

🎯 Requirements
- • Current state license as a Registered Nurse in both Ohio and Michigan
- • Minimum of 3 years of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting
- • Current CPR certification; specialty certifications as required
