- • Parafin is on a mission to empower small businesses by providing them with seamless access to essential financial tools through the platforms they already use. We are a rapidly growing Series C company, backed by prominent venture capitalists, and we're building innovative technology that simplifies access to funding, spend management, and savings for small business users. Our partners include industry leaders like DoorDash, Amazon, Worldpay, and Mindbody, and we handle the entire complexity of capital markets, underwriting, servicing, compliance, and customer service. We are expanding our Go-To-Market (GTM) technical team and are looking for a talented Sales Engineer to join us.
- • As a Sales Engineer at Parafin, you will be the technical cornerstone for our prospective platform partners. Your primary responsibility will be to guide these partners through the entire pre-sales technical journey. This includes leading in-depth technical discovery sessions, meticulously scoping integration requirements, and architecting robust solutions that align with both partner needs and Parafin's capabilities. You will act as the main technical liaison, ensuring a fluid and efficient handover to our post-sales implementation teams, thereby minimizing friction and accelerating time-to-market for our partners.
- • This role sits at the dynamic intersection of sales, partner engineering, product management, and core engineering. You will be instrumental in helping potential partners understand precisely how Parafin's embedded financial products can be effectively integrated into their existing platform architectures and how they contribute to achieving their overarching business objectives. Your insights will be crucial in demonstrating the value proposition of embedded finance and how it can unlock new revenue streams and enhance customer loyalty for our partners.
- • Beyond individual partner engagements, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and refining Parafin's overall technical pre-sales strategy and execution as we continue to scale. This involves contributing to the development of best practices, tooling, and processes that will enable our GTM team to operate more effectively and efficiently. You will report directly to the Partner Engineering Manager and be an integral part of Parafin's Revenue function, fostering close collaboration with Sales, Platform Growth, Product, and Engineering teams.
- • Key responsibilities in this role include:
- • Leading technical discovery and pre-sales scoping discussions with prospective partners and their engineering teams, serving as the primary technical point of contact throughout the entire sales cycle.
- • Designing and clearly communicating integration approaches for Parafin's suite of financial products, meticulously balancing partner-specific constraints, the need for scalability, and the critical factor of time-to-launch.
- • Presenting complex technical solutions to a diverse range of stakeholders, from hands-on engineers to C-suite executives, articulating technical tradeoffs, demonstrating potential Return on Investment (ROI), and detailing implementation considerations with clarity and precision.
- • Building high-quality, product-ready demos, reference implementations, and proofs-of-concept (POCs) to tangibly demonstrate the feasibility and suitability of Parafin's solutions for specific partner use cases.
- • Developing detailed integration architectures, clear diagrams, and comprehensive technical documentation to facilitate seamless and successful transitions to our post-sales implementation teams.
- • Creating essential sales enablement materials and developing intuitive demo tooling that empowers the broader GTM team to articulate Parafin's value proposition more effectively and close deals faster.
- • Proactively identifying product gaps, potential edge cases, and recurring needs expressed by partners, then collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams to influence the product roadmap, enhance platform capabilities, and optimize the overall sales cycle.
- • Actively contributing to the definition and refinement of technical pre-sales processes, essential tooling, and best practices as Parafin's Sales Engineering function matures and expands.
- • Serving as a trusted technical advisor to prospective partners, guiding them in understanding the transformative potential of embedded finance and how it can unlock significant value for both their businesses and their end customers.
- • Contributing to the foundational work of building a scalable, repeatable, and highly effective technical sales motion that directly supports Parafin's ambitious growth trajectory.
- • This role is not just about closing deals; it's about building foundational technical relationships and ensuring our partners are set up for success from the very beginning. You will be a key player in shaping how the market perceives and adopts embedded finance solutions, directly impacting Parafin's mission to help small businesses thrive.
