- • As a Scientific Software Engineer, AI Simulation at SandboxAQ, you will play a critical role in advancing computational chemistry tools that bridge R&D prototypes to production-ready implementations, directly supporting breakthroughs in life sciences, financial services, and cybersecurity through the company’s Large Quantitative Models (LQMs).
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining and extending scientific software packages, architecting and implementing cutting-edge scientific and ML software alongside domain experts, managing dependencies, containerizing code, integrating with CI/CD pipelines and compute backends, defining API endpoints, collaborating on UI components, and supporting production deployments while fostering a culture of curiosity and kindness.
- • You will join a global, tech-focused team of experts in AI, chemistry, physics, mathematics, medicine, and engineering, operating within a company that emerged from Alphabet Inc. in 2022 and is backed by leading investors and industry leaders, all united by a mission to solve the world’s greatest challenges through innovation and collaboration.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in scientific software engineering, gain hands-on experience with AI- and physics-based simulation systems, strengthen your ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and grow your impact by contributing to stable, scalable software that powers real-world scientific discovery and innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as physics, chemistry, biology, or computer science
- • At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including designing and maintaining well-structured software systems and collaborating with domain experts
- • Strong Python proficiency with experience in numeric and performance libraries like NumPy
