• • Jalasoft is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team in Colombia. This pivotal role is designed for an individual with a profound passion for ensuring software quality through robust automated testing, with a specific emphasis on API testing utilizing the Pytest framework.
• • As an SDET at Jalasoft, you will be at the forefront of our quality assurance efforts, taking ownership of the entire lifecycle of automated API tests. This includes the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and execution of comprehensive test suites that validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of our Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
• • Your primary responsibility will be to craft sophisticated automated tests that not only identify defects but also contribute to the overall robustness and scalability of our software products. You will leverage your deep understanding of API testing methodologies, including RESTful principles and various authentication mechanisms, to build tests that accurately reflect real-world usage scenarios.
• • A key aspect of this role involves working closely with our talented development teams. You will act as a crucial bridge between development and quality assurance, providing timely and actionable feedback to help engineers build better, more reliable software from the ground up. Your insights will be invaluable in fostering a culture of quality throughout the development process.
• • You will be instrumental in enhancing and optimizing our existing testing infrastructure and processes. This includes exploring and implementing new tools and techniques to improve test efficiency, coverage, and speed. The goal is to ensure that our APIs meet the highest standards of quality before they are deployed to production.
• • Proficiency in Pytest is essential, as you will be expected to develop and maintain test scripts using this powerful and flexible Python testing framework. Your ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient test code will be critical to the success of the team.
• • Beyond functional testing, you will also contribute to performance testing initiatives using frameworks like K6. This will involve designing and executing load and stress tests to ensure our APIs can handle expected traffic and maintain optimal performance under various conditions.
• • Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) are integral to our development workflow. You will be responsible for integrating your automated tests into our GitLab CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that tests are executed automatically with every code change, providing rapid feedback on the health of the codebase.
