- • As a Searcher at First American Financial Corporation’s DataTrace division, you will play a critical role in supporting real estate transactions by assembling accurate title packages and conducting thorough research on property tax documentation and escrow-related records. Your work ensures the integrity and efficiency of title closings nationwide, directly impacting customers’ ability to buy, sell, or refinance property with confidence.
- • Day to day, you will conduct title research to compile search packages of varying complexity, meticulously documenting all findings and sources. You will process departmental documents requiring precise knowledge of functional operations, including typing correspondence and reports from rough drafts. You will compile, investigate, and interpret tax records to determine tax liabilities, applying established procedures while exercising judgment within defined policies. You will build and maintain a working knowledge of state-specific practices and requirements for title and tax searches, adapting your approach based on jurisdictional nuances. You will work independently but know when to escalate complex or ambiguous issues to more experienced team members, ensuring timely resolution. You will utilize standard MS Office tools, company-specific operating systems, and internet-based resources to perform data entry, document retrieval, and research tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

- • In this role, you will develop strong investigative and research skills, deepen your understanding of real estate title and tax processes, and gain proficiency in specialized title industry systems and procedures. You’ll build valuable experience in document analysis, data interpretation, and regulatory compliance—skills that are transferable across legal, financial, and real estate sectors. Over time, you may pursue advancement into senior searcher, quality assurance, or team lead roles within the title and tax operations division.
🎯 Requirements
- • High school diploma or equivalent
- • 1+ years of related experience in title research, tax documentation, escrow processing, or a similar administrative or investigative role
- • Proficiency with standard MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry/typing skills
- • Strong investigative and research abilities, including the capacity to interpret tax records and compile accurate search packages
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for documenting findings and corresponding with internal teams
- • Familiarity with company terminology, search department procedures, and tools (training provided)
