- • The SEC Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Lead plays a critical role in ensuring iRhythm Technologies maintains full compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, directly supporting the company’s mission to deliver innovative cardiac health solutions by safeguarding financial integrity and transparency for investors, regulators, and stakeholders.
- • This role is essential to the financial close process, providing expert technical accounting support for complex equity-related transactions, stock-based compensation, and earnings per share calculations, enabling accurate and timely quarterly and annual reporting that underpins strategic decision-making and market confidence.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of all SEC filings such as Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, including disclosure checklists, footnote disclosures, and financial statement tie-outs, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all public reporting materials.
- • The incumbent supports the preparation of quarterly earnings releases and investor relations presentations, collaborating with finance, legal, and executive teams to communicate financial performance clearly and effectively to external audiences.
- • They maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting, directly contributing to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance by designing, testing, and monitoring controls that prevent material misstatements and ensure audit readiness.
- • Performing monthly and quarterly close activities is central to the role, including account reconciliations, roll-forwards, cash flow statement preparation, and analysis of complex accounts—identifying discrepancies, researching accounting guidance, and proposing solutions to resolve issues before they impact financial statements.
- • The role involves specialized monthly close tasks such as stock-based compensation accounting, EPS calculations, and related journal entries, requiring deep expertise in equity accounting and meticulous attention to detail.
- • The Lead provides technical accounting guidance on emerging issues, including lease accounting (ASC 842), adoption of new accounting standards, and general corporate accounting matters, acting as a subject matter expert for the finance team.
- • They serve as a primary liaison with external auditors during annual audits and interim reviews, preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and facilitating smooth audit execution while minimizing disclosures and adjustments.
- • Participation in special projects—such as system implementations, process improvements, or M&A-related accounting—is expected, offering opportunities to expand influence beyond routine reporting.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- • 4+ years of accounting experience in audit, consulting, and/or corporate accounting
- • 2+ years of experience in a Senior Auditor or Senior Accountant role with direct SEC reporting responsibilities
- • Strong knowledge of and proficiency in U.S. GAAP, including equity accounting, stock-based compensation, and lease accounting (ASC 842)
- • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in complex financial modeling and data analysis
- • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to convey complex accounting concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- • CPA license or equivalent professional certification (preferred)
- • Big Four public accounting experience (preferred)
- • Experience with SAP, Equity Edge Online, and Workiva software (preferred)
